Sigs are too big...

I know this will probably create a firestorm, but....
Is there a way to enforce some type of limit on the sizes of sig graphics? They are getting out of control. My real gripe about this is when I am browsing on my mobile devices, not only am I paying for each 500kb graphic that is on each sig, but it makes loading each page quite slow, and often unreadable.
The ideal solution would be to load a style sheet for mobile devices that would hide the sig block.
I don't care about the sigs when I'm on my desktop computer, but on mobile devices they are getting annoyingly large and expensive.
