Pet Quality

I've noticed that Vendor/quest/store-bought/etc type pets don't have a "Quality" level (poor, common, uncommon, rare, is there epic?).
How do these types of pets compare to "Quality" graded pets? (ie, what is their quality equivalence)

Another thing I've noticed is that it can be easy to tell the quality of the Wild pet you are fighting by comparing its health to those of others of its kind at equal level.
I was hunting Nether Drakes in Feralas (near dire maul) they are all lv10, some had ~700+ hp (poor) some had ~800+hp (common) some had ~900+hp (uncommon) and then I found/caught one with ~1000+hp and it was rare.
(please note the hp is just an approximate and numbers do vary)

From noticing that, I have been able to find a lot of "rare" quality pets without having to waste time catching every single pet I came across.

Hi there.

Well, as far as I can tell regarding knowing what a pet's quality is beforehand, it doesn't seem to always be so simple. More often than not you can get a hunch by the health, but I've caught commons and uncommons with substandard health (or so it seems, I've been on pet safari for all of one afternoon).

As far as purchased and quest pets, I believe they are all of a common quality. Mini pet passes are still being done and Blizzard is reviewing pet values a lot. I've heard of no uncommon non-wild pets, but the list of rare non-wild pets is continuously growing.
