Pffffffffffffft omfg LOL! I totally feel like its a reference and i keep wanting to say Dragon Ball (Z?) but i really dont remember pretty much anything from the series. I also want to compare him to the turtle on the cloud that holds the sign saying how many laps you've made in mario cart (its a turtle right?). I wonder if that skin is just a placeholder as well, seems to me like it should have a god-like skin

Oh... so I just saw it's a spirit turtle... Lonesome George? o.o
Here's a screenshot I'm quite fond of... he looks happy. I really hope this is a Lonesome Geroge reference... if I can get confirmation I might shed some tears.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's our much-awaited tribute to the late Lonesome George.
Lon'li = Lonely = Lonesome
Guju = the name George without being George itself.

Seems like a reasonable assumption. It's called "Lon'li Guju" which is pretty similar to Lonesome George.

*Not trying to derail the thread here!*
I'm glad Blizzard added in a tribute to Lonesome George. Some manly tears have been shed today.
But, on a side note, what else is Blizzard going to put in WoW that made some news? We have Helicat and Lonesome George, are they going to have a cat stuck in a tree trunk put their by twilight cultist? Are mages going to find the particle that keeps gives everything made of pixels their shape? The list goes on, and on, and on.
If you don't know what the cat stuck in a tree trunk because it was put their by twilight cultist, don't try to find out, it's horrifying.

Update on the George tribute: /hug and /kiss work, but /love does not.
(I am giggling at the /kiss discovery - I blew him a kiss, only to get my head nommed!)
