Now, I'm not in the US region of WoW, so I can't post on the forums, but maybe someone could ask on there whether we could get spaces in our hunter pet names now that we can name minipets and they are permitted to have spaces in their names?

Doesn't seem like it, no. I just attempted on the beta, I cannot put spaces in my hunter pet's name.

Yeah, as far as I know we still can't as of now. But I was wondering if someone could make a thread on the US forums about letting us do it.

Bump in the hope that someone on the US forums sees this.

Devs tend to read this forum, yes, but they very rarely speak--and then it's through one of our members. You'd be more likely to get a reply on the official beta forums.

That's the problem; as I'm an EU player, I can't post there (devs barely ever read the EU forums). I meant "in the hope that someone who can post on the US forums sees this" I guess. I don't like the way they basically ignore those of us outside of America, but there's little else I can do unfortunately.

I can't be the only one who wants this to happen, surely.

Even though you can put spaces in names of companion pets, I am betting blizzard sees spaces in player controlled units as a slippery slope type deal - that if they allowed that, they might hear a ton of "well if hunter pets can have that, why can't players?"

On a related note, I would love to be able to use apostrophes (limit one per name or something).

I wasn't able to use a space in my companion pet's name.

I was truing "Bad Medicine" but got a 'reserved' error, but Badmedicine worked. Bleh.

Out of curiosity, which pet? Seems like a great name for one of the oozelings

They may have changed it for minipets then I guess, but certain names are reserved anyway (I think when you put a space into a hunter pet name you get an "invalid character" error). I know I have a minipet Pandaren Monk named "Jackie Chan" (with the space) on the beta.

Is weird, but my Dark Whelpling... A long time ago I saw a youtube video with the yoshi from the old Mario Brothers cartoon being like "BAD MEDICINE!" And I once drew the dark whelpling saying that, and now it's stuck as a nickname.
