Forgive me for causing chaos and/or hysteria, or spreading misinformation, but I've heard from many different sources (none official, of course) that the pre-Mists of Pandaria patch is coming either this coming week, or the one after that.
Is this confirmed, or hinted at, anywhere? Other than the pre-MoP patch being on the background downloader, what other info do we have?
I'd like to know when I can get ready to tame the Black Stalker / choose new PvP abilities / say goodbye to melee weapons forever.

I havent seen it anywhere official, but I feel like it should be this week or next. Just because Im really bored and want to play around with new specs on live lol.

There's no official word yet. It's highly likely it's either this week or the next one though. The new book is coming out around next tuesday I believe and also guild wars two is up to something. Personally I am betting on this week because there isn't a great deal of time left before MoP. That said the end of the arena season hasn't been stated to the best of my knowledge. I really don't think they'd just change everything around spec/move wise without a heads up to those guys. Who knows though. "Soon" is the best official word we'll ever get.

I was thinking next week or the follow. I think the pre-BC, wrath and cata patches came approx a month before launch, though the pre cata patch was weird since it was split in 2.

This sort of report happens fairly frequently. The moment a patch starts downloading, people are all 'IT'S NEXT WEEK!' ... often for three or four weeks before it actually comes out.

More likely, we have at least another week without the patch. The last time, it was a month before the big patch that we got our 'change-over' in Cataclysm. I *believe* that it was about the same for Northrend, as well, though my memory's shaky enough that you shouldn't quote me on that. And as you may notice? We have a couple more weeks to go before it's 'one month'.

I'm going to call it: August 29th. *Might* be 22, but I think more likely 29.

I'm still sticking with the 29th or the 4th.

There's still too much balancing going on.

The MoP cinematic debuts in a few days, so I'm thinking it might be the following week once they're all finished with that convention? Either way, I'd definitely think it's soon.

I sincerely hope it's soon. Guild is putting hard pressure for me to respec survival from BM. If we get heroic gunship down this week, it's pretty much mandatory. The patch is the only thing that can save my current raiding spec.

Didn't they say that it would be 2 weeks prior to MoP's release? That would mean September 11th, and to me that would be a REALLY bad move considering that Garosh orders his troops to bomb Theramore. Yeah... that wouldn't go well with what happened that day...

I sincerely hope it's released earlier than that date. It has to be!

Isnt bm High burst though? High burst is good for heroic spine! Id be bm if I wasnt rusty/on grip duty

Ah, good point there! I guess I mixed the two together. Still doesn't change the fact that the event doesn't mix well with the date...

Yeah. Ive seen people saying Americans need to stop being so sensitive about the date, which would be okay if people were freaking out over something else being released on that day, but a city being blown up is a big "please no" from me.

Heroic gunship?! That is Lich King raiding, any 85 group with halfway decent gear should be able to do that blindfolded. If you guys are failing it, then you need to work on your group play style and mechanics, it's not because you are a BM. Heck my Lich King raid group back in LK had me raid as BM half the time for the exotic buffs (and mm other times when I didn't need the burst damage as much).

BM is a perfectly viable raid spec right now, I outdo similar geared MM and SV hunters all the time on my BM hunter. You just need to manage your cool downs really well, get better gear, and you'll be fine.

And I'm sorry for going off topic, it just makes me mad when raid leaders start dictating what spec people should play as with the old stigma of BM being a bad spec. It is far from it.

Aha, I feel silly then. I keep thinking of gunship as the LK raid. The dragon soul gunship is named "Jump in the purple spot and kill the flying dragons!" in my head. Hah.

Still BM is a perfectly fine raid spec right now.

Also I do agree that BM has the burst needed for tendons, but the major concern is the bloods, and well, BM doesn't have the most steady AoE atm. My worm burrows, tank has to move. V_V

Its always a little surprising when I see peoples raid leaders are trying to make them swap specs instead of letting them play what they want. I partially understand, but Im not really okay with it lol. I forgot about the bloods though. I dont know anything about your other dps, but with the 30% debuff Idk if you being Surv over BM could make or break the fight.

(My raid groups a feral druid, 3 surv hunters, and a fire mage as our main dps so we have insane aoe lol)

Is there already some confirmation about the HC raggy mount and HC DW mount going non 100% with the prepatch? or MOP patch even?
