can the digital deluxe edition of MoP (digital deluxe mop! it cleans better!) be gifted to someone?

like, could I pay for it with my credit card, and give it to someone else?

As far as I know Blizzard hasn't implemented a gifting feature for the expansion as of yet. It would be a good idea though.

Everytime my parents pay for something regarding WoW, they always put in all they're credit card info. Couldn't you do the same? Have everything attached to your friends account, but use your card/paypal for it?

the problem seems to be that I'd need to log into the other battle.net account to order the game, and THEN put in the credit card info.

Well, you could always ask for them to temporarily change the password to something cheap for you, then change it back immediately afterward if they have a trust issue.

Not supposed to let anyone log into your account. And if you are in two different areas, then logging into theirs might look suspicious.

Just wait till there is an option to gift-or buy them a reservation of a physical copy somewhere near where they live? Or order them a copy on amazon or another online retailer and have it mailed to them.

True. I'm sorry. :x I hope they allow gifting soon.

I wanted to do this it was so unfair!

I've known my friend for over 4 years now and I wanted to get her something I know she'd love so this was the best idea and then it wouldn't let me ah well.

Guess she'll have to buy it herself which she should be capable of but still I'd rather it had been me buy it for her instead.

And I know there's other ways to buy it but you know what screw it, I wanted a easy way to get it and blizz ruined it by not been able to gift it.

You could give her a gift card and dress it up so its intended purpose is stated up front. :)

Those are based in their own countries though the best I could do is just send money in a card or something

Because she's from the US and I'm from Australia :P

Money order, that way its less likely that someone will steal it. She'll just have to bring it to her bank to get it cashed/deposited etc. And remember the exchange rates!

(Money orders are generally printed out to the person you're sending it to so that way only that person or someone with an id with the name etc can cash it...which makes it less likely to be stolen!)

Some Blizz employee wrote on the official forums that they might eventually allow gifting of the expac. but that for now the DL is "linked to your Battle.net account".

that's such a shame, I really wanted to gift the special edition to someone special on Petopia, AND I wanted to pay for my hubby's expac. update. it's kind of crass to say "here's $60, for the expac. I love you."

Not crass at all, you're still paying for it in the only way you have available. :)

Is it actually cheaper to buy the standard copy now, then wait for launch ?

The digital pre-order is not cheaper. As far as the physical that would depend on where you get it from. The expansion cost probably won't drop until a Thanksgiving or xmas sale.
