With the recent topic on The Black Stalker, I've been thinking about Boglash and Marticar that where changed from the white skin to the green skin. Now I think that it's okay for Boglash to be green since all the blue fen striders are on the east side of Zangarmarsh, while all the green ones are on the west side of it. However Marticar can spawn in both places, so if he's wandering around on the west side, he's the same skin colors as all the other fen striders there.

With people concerned about the potential shit storm that The Black Stalker could create in a random group, how about changing Marticar's skin to the black one? That way people more interested in a Rare rather than the Boss of a dungeon would go after him, and it would provide a way to get the skin outside of both a dungeon and a raid. Or both Marticar and Boglash could be the black skin if that's not enough, though I'd prefer if it remained a wee bit more rare than blue and green.

What do you gals and guys think?

Black Stalker would have to be someone intent on griefing a group.

In fact, it could easily be ticketed and actionable, as it is intentional griefing of a group, as you have to manually queue for underbog at that level. If you're in heroic, then she'd kill you before she could tame you anyway.

i think a brand new color for Marticar is in order.

Really i dont see anyone wanting to tame the dungeon boss beeing a issue. Mainly cause you wouldnt be able to. The random group wouldnt let you, they want to finish their quests. They are there to lvl up and progress, not to drop on the last boss. The hunter should not expect a random group of people to hand him/her the last boss that they need to kill for compleation of their quests and the bonus you get on dungeon complete.

Anny respectfull hunter either gets a high lvl from the guild to help with a run through or wait a few lvls untill they can solo it themselves.

Funny this Kurasu suggested that to me a week or so ago and Noah has received said suggestion. Whether it happens or not is another matter. It's very, very close to the end of beta now, and (i) he'll be insanely busy and (ii) it may soon reach code freeze, if it hasn't already. I'm not sure how that works at Blizzard. Plus, well, he may not like the idea anyway, but I think it's a great one

I'd rather not have Marticar have the black skin, as I'd prefer the Black Stalker to be something like the turtle boss in Blackfathom -- a unique and cool pet that you journey back into the dungeon a few levels later to tame it for yourself.

I honestly think that a new skin (such as the ones made by Wain) would be great for Marticar!

Well, just remember: The Black Stalker already *isn't* unique. And if they were going to make an all-new skin, I would think they'd have applied it to Glimmer.

True enough! It's funny that the boss version is easier to tame than the 'common' version, actually...because getting that far in the Vashj fight is a pain in the butt.

Or just getting that far in SSC.

Agreed, though; Hexapos's unique skin was made artificially. My personal suggestion for the new Marticar would be the black/green skin with the foggy effect like Boglash (who sadly doesn't keep that when tamed, but should as well, IMO).

With the latest mini-build, I went looking for Marti. Found him... still green. I tamed him, though, so I should be able to more easily keep an eye on his color to see if it changes! And who knows? I may yet bond with him while I'm at it.

You also have to note, the Black Stalker is called the BLACK Stalker, making her a different color would just be silly.

But putting the skin on Marticar too would not be bad for me, so long as BS remains tameable as well. xD

Thanks guys If that one was introduced I'm not sure if people would think it was too boring and grey when seen in the game itself. Dunno Glad you liked it, anyway

I like grey, so I wouldn't find it boring. Anyways, Wain, even if a skin is ugly...the uniqueness generally makes them get it anyhow. XD
