Cataclysm Friends & Family Alpha
The Cataclysm Client is now "public" and a lot of spoilers will be published soon. I'll just jump in the train.

*blink* Oh boy. I wish I knew what "public" means in this context.
Well, for the moment feel free to discuss hunter and pet changes in this thread. I'll kill it if I hear that Blizzard wants the info gone.

Not necessarily. If the entire client leaked, there is a treasure trove of information to be data-mined, whether or not Blizzard wants it out there. But we'll see what they say. They didn't bother coming down on this stuff during WotLK, and they knew it would happen as soon as F&F started. *shrug*
Also, WoW Insider has some
UI strings including some fascinating ones like "POWER_TYPE_VAULT_CRACKING_PROGRESS" ... and is linking to a WotLK alpha/beta site called
Nihilum Cataclysm Wiki.

Check out these spiky crabs! There are 21 different colors, although it looks like maybe 5-7 major colors with a couple of variants each -- but still, finally, more colors for pet crabs? My favorites are:

Just because my feed reader took longer to update this time ... *grin* Seriously, thank you very much for catching this and letting everyone here know about it.
Ooh, the map for Darkshore still has a Ruins of Mathystra area -- looks like the ghost saber isn't in as much danger as we feared! We'll have to actually get someone in game to verify that, of course.
And thank goodness Stonetalon seems to have changed alot. I always hated questing there. Also, check out the serious flooding in Thousand Needles.
Incidentally, it doesn't look like hunter talents have been updated at all yet. I'm sure they'll come though.

I wonder if it's our pets that are getting remodels or if these new creatures are going to be parts of high level zones.

Achievements
There aren't a lot of new achievements, but it looks like you'll have to explore everything again.
* Surveying the Damage - Explore the following areas in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdom to see the changes wrought by the Cataclysm.
* Level 85 - Reach level 85.
* Explore Vashj'ir - Explore Vashj'ir, revealing the covered areas of the world map.
* Cataclysm Dungeon Explorer - Discover the entrances to the following Cataclysm dungeons

Those murlocs look like they're modeled after an angler fish, but they do look good.
