Just tamed this beautiful (and slightly disturbing) strider out of Underbog, and I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for names. For the time being, I named it Shathak, since it looks very Lovecraftian to me. Also, it has a habit of pretending to be a hat.

I've parked my hunter in Zang for the purposes of picking up a temp Strider after the patch goes live in the EU today.

Gonna name him "ThisOne"

I named mine Harbinger. I got a blue one named Leviathan. Kalli should know this one. ;3 One of my basilisks is named Wrex too.

Named mine Reed, but was also considering Thatch.

I've named two of them; one Stilts, the other Legs. Legs is of course also the name of the companion/battle pet but it's temporary.

I named mine after Orson Wells.

My friend named theirs Butterface. -.-;

I haven't decided on a name for mine yet. It's just temporary until I get the Blue Mosquito version on Pandaria.

Thinking something like Skipper or Mizu. xD

I named mine Blacklight. I'm odd. But I like him. He's really growing on me.

The temporary one I have right now is Saddlebags. That's mostly because a friend of mine insisted that ONE of my new pets be named Saddlebags, so it was either the porcupine or the fen strider.

But I think I actually want to have mine be named "Gaganbo". It's the Japanese name for Crane Fly, and I think it literally means "longlegs".

I'll confess that I wasn't as serious as I usually am when trying to think of a name for my newly-tamed Black Stalker. I brought him into an instance with a friend who commented on its attack animations. The implication was that fen striders hit in a 'less than masculine manner' with those frondy arm things of theirs. (another friend jokingly called it 'Birch Slap")

A hunter friend was online and had just tamed the Black Stalker too, so we went out in front of Orgrimmar, started a duel and a few of us just stood there watching the two striders whack away at each other. The comments in Vent led to various name suggestions and mine ended up being named Lance. The top suggestion for the other hunter was Bruce, but she went with another name that I can't remember.

I just called mine UFO.

Mostly because "Creepy Three-Legged Space Gremlin" wouldn't fit.

I named mine Nightshade, after the plant. It just seemed to click.
