I've heard rumors that the pureblood fire hawk is now dropping 100% on normal mode. I just killed him on normal mode on my Mage and it dropped. I didn't know before the fight about the new drop rate. Thought I was just lucky

grats on the mount but i don't believe that its a 100% drop rate for one bit. you were just fortunate that it dropped on normal (its a 1 or 2% drop chance)

I've read on the wowhead page and on the forums about this seemingly upped chance. Let me go gook for the page

Read the comment from this most recent patch. He said he had seen it drop 5 times in a row. I can try another normal kill tonight as well

Just did 2 runs, can confirm 100%. I guess this is blizzards way of giving us a last hurrah before it goes 1%.

Also confirmed, I just did 3 runs, my friends are going on 4 but I'm out of toons to go with them on, so I can't help them. xD

Yeah, it's 100%.

But it's probably not intentional, and I'd be very wary of getting too attached to normal-drop Fire Hawks obtained post 5.0.4.

I have 18k gold which, to most people, is worth nothing. I'm still trying to save it for some expensive AH mounts too.

Is it a drop or mailed?

I know the heroic mount gets mailed to you after the kill, so is this just a 100% drop chance for it to drop as loot?

Yes its rollable loot.

Ahh, it's just tonight we're starting a heroic clear out of FL to get everyone in our regular raid group the heroic mount and the Firelord title.

If it had been the mailed version we'd have just run it on normal and got everyone their mount that way, but looks as though we'll just do it the less than easy way

And because we're overloaded on tank signups tonight, and short of ranged, I get to raid on my hunter for the first time!

I'm a little cautious of joining a group who aims to get the mount on normal.
Couldn't Blizzard just remove the mount from whoever won it? That would be terrible.

Nah, Blizz don't care about people paying gold to get carried in heroic content. Guilds have been doing it for years, advertising their gold runs on the official forums etc.

Anyone getting the mount this way would be pretty safe in keeping it.

I meant about the 100% droprate on normal.

Oh, well that's probably not a bug. They nerfed heroic raggy again in 5.0.4, and knocked 11m off his health pool. With the fact that he no longer magma geysers on a stack of 3+ raiders then getting to p4 will be a lot quicker and easier, and p4 itself will be a doddle.
