Are there any currently tameable that make noises when you click on them? Just curious :P

I recently tamed Hissperak, who also makes noises when clicked. :)

Cool, I don't think I knew that he did too. I guess it's fitting, given his name :)

Indeed :) He's a loud little fella! I like him but I'm not sure he's going to be on my keep list just yet- still, I wanted to try a basilisk out.

They're an interesting concept, but I question the usefulness of their Petrifying Gaze ability - it's a 3-second stun that makes the target invulnerable during those three seconds and cannot be cast on friendly targets.

If it were a plain 3-second stun, or a 3-second invul castable on friendlies, those would work, but as-is, I see no useful purpose for it whatsoever.

I find it good for pet tanking. He goes in stuns one, taunts the next, blink to the third and we settle down to killing them all. Plus, some of the mobs look down right awesome stoned!

Has anyone noticed there little wiggle dance run turns way too fast in the water?

edited to fix language.

"Spastic", like "retarded" is not something we should use around here as a derogatory term.

But apart from that, I haven't noticed them wiggle especially quickly in water. I actually really like the way they swim. Very fluid.

I didn't mean it as derogatory. Just looked the word up in the dictionary and it has all sorts of connotations I didn't realize it had. Thanks for letting me know.

Basically I meant that the swim movements incredibly fast to the point that it looks like he's having a seizure or spasms. When I move just a little bit and he swims slowly the animation is nice it is very smooth and he uses his strong tail, but if I try moving anywhere his animation speeds up a lot. His animation has always been fast when he moves around on land. The wiggle dance he has when he runs really fast behind my mount is cute; however. the speed of the swimming animation is cranked up beyond cute and bouncy and makes him look like he's sick or dying or something. :( I'm not sure how else to describe it.

Edit: Maybe it is because I have an outland basilisk?

Thanks for letting us know. I was unaware of its usage in British English.

Hrmmm so did the TB rum daily today and he swam much slower. Then I realized what I think is causing it. I was in Vashj'ir with the spped buff.

Fair enough. :) Sorry I misunderstood your intent. In Australia, at least, while it can be used properly it's more often used in a similar derogatory way as "retarded" often is. Even the "Spastic Society" here has now changed its name to something else. It sounded in my mind like it was being used that way here, but I see it wasn't.

Maybe it is. I haven't tried out that model yet. I use the Azeroth one and it's pretty smooth underwater. It's very sinuous but not fast and jerky. What you describe reminds me of how a lot of minipets look when they try to copy the motions of full-sized beasts. I'll be interested to try one out anyway.

I'm going to try and get an azerothian basilisk today and compare them. After I finish my random pet challenge and have a free space that is.

...are you from Aussieland or something? Because AFAIK only people over there make the association of spastic to retarded. In north america...its not used that way. I've honestly only ever heard aussies get grumpy.

/edit

so you have it on your location, FYI spastic is generally used as a reference to someone or something acting hyper...like they ate a lot of sugar or are all hyped up and crazy "weeeee" bouncing off the walls etc. Its not supposed to mean anything like/refer to the "R" word.

oh my god I found your second post, I need to go drink more coffee.

Yupe the Outlands basilisk is sped up compared to the Azeroth model in the water. I can't tell exactly how much but is somewhere more than half again to twice as fast. It is strange though, the land and water idle animation and the land movement animations are the same speed.
