I am not sure where to post this but seeing i am looking for ideas for art this is my best bet :3

I found an interesting discussion on mmo today:http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/119 ... uids/page4

Its about Blood elf druids and why they can or cannot exist lorewise.
Some people state is should be possible using Botanica as example.
However one person mentioned the Druids of flame and their severed tie to nature (path of cenarion) and their devotion to the Ragnaros but still able to practice druidism.

I am not looking for a discussion of the lore as in whether BE Druids can exist or not. (but feel free to discuss nonetheless)

But I am looking for a new art project based on the assumption if Blood elfs could be druids what would their forms look like?

Would you think they would follow the path of cenarius or would they do something similar like Druids of Flame and perhaps use their arcane infinity somehow to harness their power? Or perhaps a whole different method?

personally I was thinking something in the lines of this for the main forms.

If they would follow the path of Cenarion:
Cat: Lynx or perhaps some kind of leopard
Bear: (Kinda clueless about this one)
Flight: Dragon hawk or a colorful Bird (think paradise bird)
Moonkin form: a recolor of the current form?

Seeing Blizzard added a Alliance stag and a Horde stag and the water forms are uniform as well i'll leave these out for now but feel free to give ideas.

if they would follow the a similar path like the Druids of flame and there forms represent something similar I am hitting a brick wall.

Cat: Arcane energy/construct like Feline
Bear: ?
Flight: Mana Wyrm
Moonkin:?

Anyone has any ideas ?

Hmmmm....sounds like an interesting concept, I'll see if I can get inspired to sketch something up.

I like dragon hawk for flight form. thinking of armor for the epic version though, hmm.
As for moonkin recolor, the white model hasn't been used yet. I was trying to find like, all of the possible colors but most of them tend to be either tauren or troll colors, looks like.

For arcane-based forms, maybe the look would be spectral, like the effects of many spirit beasts?
Well, I guess not the spectral part, but they do give off some kind of magic swirly dust effects.

I was trying to think of an arcane bear and the first thing to come to mind was Arcturis.

Bear: Probably similar to the NE one but with BE markings.
Cat: Lynx as that is a BE signature feline.
Moonkin: A reddish orange recolor of what we got.
Flight: Dragonhawk
Travel: All horde use the same stag so there's no need for something different.
Aquatic: Same as above except with whales/seals.

Well I started working on a lynx atm so I hope to get that one done soon (but Mop preperation is getting in the way >_>)

Maybe they could have hawkstrider instead of a moose as travel form.

Here's a very very quick concept sketch of a Blood elf kitty. It looks a bit awkward because I just quickly traced the lynx from Petopia. Lazy is lazy

I picture them in golds and reds, so the golden collar with the red gems, sort of wing-like charms to match their city emblem. I rather like the one earring option they have and thought it would look neat on the longer ears of the lynx. The gem colors can be alternated with different feral colors, I picture them in the hot colors, yellow, orange, red, maybe the token white/black. I don't see them as cool colors (blue/green/purples).

That's awesome! Blood elf druids would most certainly use a lynx for their cat form, and dragonhawk for their flight form.

I've been wanting to play a blood elf druid since they first introduced The Burning Crusade. Seriously. I even change my druid's appearance slightly when I draw her, making her look more like a blood elf. I've always preferred horde, and if they ever made blood elves druids I would DEFINITELY do a faction change. I just prefer the horde!

However, if they get around to updating the Night Elf models, as I seriously hope they do, I am content to stick with Night Elves for now.
