okay so blizzard has a recurring theme of reviving lore characters just so we or another lore character can kill them again
for example onyxia was killed by players then blizzard went back and revived her for varian to kill in the comic and then she was revived again as an 8o for the 5th anniversary.
but what do you think is happening in cataclysm?

Okay, some one said it this way, and I have to agree. If we haven't ever really killed Zalazane or Thermaplug, I very seriously doubt we've ever really killed any of the major raid bosses or figures. Ever.

Those big kills aren't attributed to players. If UndeadOny comes back in Cata, it'll be because Variann killed her in the comic, or because she gets killed by another lore character ingame.

It did make me sad that hole king killed her thing me and my guild work really hard to kill her at 60!

Ooh, undead Onyxia. You know, there were some datamined files for a spell, basically "when onyxia and nefarian are together they deal 75% more damage" (something like that). Think we'll see the two in a raid together?

Sounds very likely, Saturo. And it was 101% more damage. I remember because I thought it odd that it wasn't 100%...

Ugh, this feel's an awful lot like shark jumping to me. Are we going to see every major boss we've ever defeated come back in some way form or fashion? First really uncool thing I've heard about Cataclysm.

I don't see it that way i mean the expack is all about her dad i don't see why he would not want his little girl back i mean she was the one who basicly brougt back the flight as the main breeder.

What they don't tell you is that the raid you find Undead!Onyxia in was actually a tea-party she was throwing while inviting Illidan, VanCleef, and Nexus-Prince Shaffar. You have to fight all of them at once. While it randomly reassigns your keybindings. And they shout insults at you.

(Srsly though, undead Onyxia looks cool...have we ever seen an undead DRAGON before? Not like the frostwyrms, but a zombie-dragon).

And bringing something back undead isn't exactly the same as having them back. But beyond that, we're starting to get into comic book/soap opera territory now, which is a sign of age. It's what happens when you start bringing back older, more popular characters in order to boost your ratings or sales, even though said characters supposedly 'died'. Everyone knows Onyxia, and most people know at least a bit about Nefarian. If they leave it at those two, then I'm not to worried, and it can manage to be an interesting twist. We'll see how far they take it.

Do we have any hard proof it really is her? or is it just the name they gave her pic?

Yup, and with heroic Deadmines we can safely say that Van Cleef is making a come back as well.

For people freaking out over this, I don't think that lore wise VC or Arugal are back, I'm pretty sure it's just for fun that their instances will be heroic. Or heck, they might not even BE in those instances any more, we might end up fighting totally new bosses!!

Speaking of lore and such, I don't see what the big deal 'bout Ony being back, yes Blizz did revamp her instance to level 80, but that was just for 5th anniversary, nothing more. In fact, Blizz stated that it had no impact in the lore at all. Totally non-canon stuff.

Also, Ony and Nef are Deathwing's strongest and most renowned children, so I'm not surprised if he wanted to bring them back! I don't see why people get all huffy over it, it makes loads of sense. And besides, Blizz already said at Blizzcon that Nef would be back anyway.
