<3 Savage, now with more <3

So, I'd sworn I was going to wait until the initial uproar of Mists had died down before getting back on the rare hunting wagon again. I'm not the type who likes to compete with dozens of others for tags or tames. But when I saw the bloody tracks last night while questing, I couldn't help myself -- heart went right into my throat, and all thoughts of leveling went out the window.

I must have tracked that darned white tiger for two and a half hours... I kept finding Savage's trail, then losing it, then finding it again. I had one false start when I flared him out, at the cliffs near the top of his patrol, but then aggro'd one of those normal orange cats before I'd had a chance to pop a hunter's mark on him. He disappeared, turned around, and started pathing back the other way ... and I got discombobulated while following two sets of tracks, and essentially had to start over completely again.

Finally, I backtracked a bit further to where I knew he would path again (by a large lake midway through his patrol), flared as soon as I started to see those tracks appear ... and poof, there was Bastian, my pretty white tiger. :D

Pictures forthcoming... soon as I have the chance to log on and find a suitable place to get a screenshot... so many pretty places to explore! How to decide?

Happy hunting, all! :D

Congrats! Savage was the only one I really wanted too. I'm happy to play on a mostly dead rare-hunting server at least, I've come across Savages tracks I think about thrice now.

Thanks, Royi! The toon isn't really a cat person (er, elf), but I get such a kick out of taming rares~ :D

I managed to catch Glimmer today after missing the tame last night (I think a night elf got it -- congrats, if you read the forum!). I caught tracks up by the Arboretum and followed them until they disappeared in the phased area. I ran to the end of its path and waited... ever the patient hunter... until the tracks started appearing again. I had a bit of a scare ... after I'd flared and marked it, my tame didn't go off the first time. Glimmer just kept walking, not even bothering to attack me, and I guess it got out of range. I tried tagging with an arcane shot, and it still didn't come after me... Despite that, the second tame went off just fine, and I now have a sweet little water strider named Hope. (Much like taming, I can't resist the puns!)

Pics are in the larger MoP tames thread~

might as well put the pics here and change the thread name to "s1ncer1ty's taming thread" or something, that way you can chronicle all your tames in one convienant thread.

Always nice for onlookers to look at some sort of screen shot. Gives it more "connection"

Tip taken! I post so infrequently that I don't always know the best conventions... *blush* Anyhoo... Savage and Glimmer were joined Sunday with three additional rare tames -- managed to flush out Bristlespine, Stompy and Bloodtooth as well.

*ahem* I don't have a problem, not me, tra la la.

I saw Bristlespine's tracks as I was about 95% of the way to level 88, so I leveled like the wind before running around like a madwoman looking for the tracks again. I almost gave up and went back to leveling, but then came across a track again, and off I went! He's adorable. I didn't think I'd like him at first, but then I was cuted out by his 'Rest' command, which makes him curl up in a ball and sleep. Plus, he's a lot teenier than your standard pet.

I didn't intend to hunt for Stompy, but his tracks were clear as day when I was out questing in Kun-Lai Summit. I'd say he's the easiest to find so far, since the dark tracks stand out really well against the white snow that's along his path. I think I got him about an hour after I found Bristlespine, so I was feeling extra-lucky.

No big story behind Bloodtooth, I suppose. I was cross-eyed from leveling so flew out to see if I could find him for the heck of it. Lo and behold, there were tracks. He was also fairly easy to find, though I didn't need to cross any water before reaching the end of the tracks.
