So, I'm looking at over 400 mini pets, although I only have 125 individual, distinct mini pets.

I have as many Sinister Squashlings as I have toons on three accounts, more than enough Easter Bunnies, and Ancona Chickens...

What I'm wondering is, is there any value at all to keeping the duplicates? (triplicates, quadruplicates, pentuplets, sextuplets, heptuplets, lotsuplets)

I was leery to just get rid of them.. I'm still working under the old "I finally got this mini pet on that toon, yay me!" mentality.

Yes, I admit, I'm a hoarder... or should I say Horder? Anyway, lots of junk in my banks. Should I get rid of the mini pets? it's not like it affects my bank vault in any way. But a BIT of cleaning up, even if it's symbolic, is always a good thing.

I caged my extras and sent them to my bank toon. I sold a few rarer ones. Duplicates are just unnecessary clutter IMO unless for some reason you want a pet battle team with more than one of the same pet.

would it be worth leveling the extras before caging/selling them?

Once you cage them, they lose their levels, I believe.

Actually, unless they have changed it, levels stay with the caging of the pet. Part of the bonus was being able to sell higher-leveled pets on the AH. I don't know for a fact if they kept that or not, but it was part of the intention.

I like catching mulitples if they come in more than one colour!

since pets still retain their level upon caging for selling, it might always be an idea to focus on raising the level of sell able pets first, and make at least a few gold off of them.

Is the AH bugged for anyone else? I can't list my pets unless I glitch it out by searching Windwool cloth, listing the pet as if it was cloth, but then it shows up under Battle Pets.

I'm having the same problem. I'll try using your method.

As for duplicate pets, I boxed mine up and sent them to my bank alt. Mostly because the AH is bugged for me, but also in case a friend wants one at some point. I do have a second warpstalker-looking pet, only because it was the same color as my hunter pet. I will probably release it if I find another "species" of the same model and color.

I released all the common duplicate pets I had and then caged and sold everything that was even remotely valuable. I've made several thousand gold off doing that. I just can't stand having duplicates that are completely identical... it feels like my list is clogged up and sets off my OCD. But I do keep pets earned from battle that are the "same" (i.e. two Snake, two Rat) as long as they have different colored skins.

I was also having problems with the AH but for me it was the auction mods I was using. I had to uninstall AuctionMaster (I kept AuctionLite, it doesn't seem to interfere) and then used the default Blizzard AH Sell tab to list each pet. After that there were no problems.

Ah! I'm using AuctionMaster as well. Good to know that's the cause.
