Even though they aren't real creatures, I definitely feel a bond to my pets. They're hes or shes - not its. I also end up developing different personalities to each, their opinions of things, each other, or me. I guess you could just label it a creative side, as I've done it forever. My stuffed animals when I was a wee little girl, my Neopets when I was introduced to the internet, and now my WoW pets. I guess it also makes WoW a more realistic experience when you've got the imagination to add things that aren't even in the game.

It's quite fun, actually. :)

This is definitely how I feel. I don't feel heartbroken to see them die, though I do get upset. I don't view them like equivalents to my cats, you know? But They have personalities and I feel a bond of some sort. When Atha's heads fight I chuckle the same way I do when my youngest cat chases her tail... xD

Eh, I love my pet's. As a writer I tend to give my pet's stories, back grounds, and personalities.

From the perspective of the story of course Teigan or Grys or Kal is horrified if their pet is hurt or killed and releasing a pet is no easy matter. From the perspective of reality, I become attached to them in the way I would become attached to a favorite character in a novel. Since I have a fairly vivid imagination, that can still be a pretty powerful force.

Sums up my feeling. It kinda hurt me when I did a storyline of Lunania's original wolf dying off. I'm mostly attached to my dear little Shadowflame (Humar). I love that little fluff ball. <3

It's a little sad, but I get VERY attached. I think it's mainly due to the fact I can't have my own pets till I move out (brother has allergies) so the virtual pets are the closest things to them. =)

I coo when I see Xena running beside me, or a new pet running towards their first kill. I cried when I saw Krush killed in front of me. Twice. And I am very sad to see pets I'm attached to, leave.

It's mostly towards Frëki and Xena, as they've been with me the longest. My 3 Spirit Beasts, even though I love them to bits, have varying degrees. Medea (Loque) seems to be a replacement for my Winterspring Pride Watcher, Erulissë, who I loved dearly. Kainos (Skoll) is like a daddy figure, who I'm still not very attached to. And Siouxsie (Gondria) I've tamed twice, mainly because I saw them as destined encounters. So it really varies. =)

I've been known to sacrifice myself and die with them because they fight so hard for me.

I've also been known to dismiss quickly if I see an imminent wipe to spare a pet death.

You insult them you insult me.
I just don't react as strongly as I would with my real life pets.

This is a brilliant way to describe it. That's exactly how it feels for me. :)

I rather like them, but to be honest, unless I'm RPing, I really feel like they're just another piece of gear, like a trophy to show to others about myself.

I'm pretty serious if I've established a personality for the pet first. This is mildly disastrous for me sometimes, because Taizak tames a new pet for each area she enters in order to get a better feel for the land and the life in it, and after a time they mutually decide it's time to separate. :P Vargus, my Vargul Blighthound, really sticks out in my mind as an instance where she and I both were terribly sad to see a pet go. Zul'Drak was a great place for RP. ... Anyway, yeah, pretty serious, hehe.

Saturo is a gnome, wrapped in a troll, wrapped in an enigma, inside a mystery, who is also chained up to a chair in a really bad knockoff of a Jane Austen novel.
