Does anyone know if the Elder Shoreshell Snappers are phased in some way I can unlock? I'd like one, and I ran all the way up to where they are as soon as I hit 87 and was quite disappointed when they disappeared on me. Also, the one I did briefly see was 88, but I'm more concerned about the phasing.

I do have a "second choice" skin, but I'd really like this guy!

Oh no! I'm not completely sure on the phasing issue, but sometimes if you can stand far enough away you might be able to send a pet in to aggro one, or shoot one, or throw a trap down then kite it out of the phased area. Or if you know a friend who isn't affected by the phasing yet, they can drag one out and it usually works too!

Just tried that out. Can't seem to get in range before they phase out. I haven't quested at all in that zone, so maybe they will unlock at some point. I can go try out that other turtle I like for a while.

Edit: Woops! I just got really, really close and they reappeared! Woohoo! Still a level too high, but good to know I can still get one.
