Anyone know or have an idea when Snowy Owls will flock to Winterspring? They only appear in winter in the game and its apparently been 'winter' (the arrival of winter squid in fishing) since like, i was told either Sept 22nd or 23rd they transition. I would absolutely adore to catch one, they use hell-Hoots model from what ive seen in my pet journal.

Edit: They are officially up! Long spawn times, appear to have set spawn areas, best seen in early morning and late night (as with many things since people are sleeping)

Seems like Warcraft Pets is baffled too!

Those are all theories; nothing concrete. Sorry, that's the best I found.

Hmm, so people are claiming it'll show up in december, which is when north americans officially claim its the winter season.. yea, i can see that, just a little strange tho what with the winter squid xD Thanks! Thats cleared up the confusion. We'll have to wait till Dec 21st then /sadface xP I must make sure i capture the max amount as rares then juuust for safe keeping <3

If only it treated the seasons as reversed on Oceanic servers... then in December (summer here) I could get a Qiraji Guardling, then form a raid group with someone in the USA and get a Snowy Owl through CRZ. Sadly it doesn't work that way

Yeah right now it is acually FALL, winter don't start until dec 21st.

Actually, there is word in multiple locations that Snowy Owls have spawned in Winterspring. Including Warcraftpets, who has a screenshot of it.

Just because it's not winter solstice in the real world doesn't mean it's not winter in WoW.

They were missing completely until now though :3 No data anywhere was recorded that they were on live and now suddenly they just exploded all over Winterspring as im reading on the WoWhead comments. The earliest one to record sightings of the Owls is 7 hours ago, what timezone they are in i dunno, but the owls have been out as of the 31st it appears for US servers

Edit: I just scoured Winterspring, not a single owl was up in the zone, and i never once crossed paths with someone flying nor saw anyone on the ground when i was observing

I logged on an alt's server and there were a lot of Snowy Owls up for about 30 minutes at around 10pm server. They were all along the mountains in the Western Part of the zone. I ended up finding a green one but the rest were white or grey and eventually they stopped spawning. I have toons on two other servers and I couldn't find a single one. They were only up on the one server.

Maybe some servers are still bugged? I think they only spawn at night though as I had checked earlier that afternoon and nothing! Even on the server I eventually found them on.

Huh.. perhaps, and their timers are that short? Or er well, they're not very fast spawner's at the least.. hopefully Nesingwary starts poppin' em soon, i cant wait to get one or 3

Ha ha I totally understand. After all these years I still get lost in in game seasons. XD Holiday events too in fact! as in you have to wait till it's the day in the states not the day it says on the calender for bosses. ( but then again everything is in aussie time too ha ha)

I have not seen a owl yet sadly and I've been there for a bit too.

I also had seen a Wowhead comment who specified he was US server and found owls. But im never completely bought on anything that comes from there without definitive proof so its more of a 'worth mentioning just incase' then anything else :3

Unfortunately i havent been able to log on for at least 2 hours now so i cant check to see if any have spawned

yeah, I saw a new post on the warcraftpets for the snowy owl, saying they caught one on a US server at 8am...sadly I to cannot log into wow atm.

I managed to slip into the game after restarting the computer, that might work I did a quick scan through the zone (i want to get dailies done asap :K) and while it was mildly busy, the activity was mostly concentraded in Everlook and i didnt see any owls up. Since im only taking short patrols and not doing any actual camping, i could very well just be missing them entirely ><

I saw them too when i was on a taxi! I rushed up to winterspring on an alt who only has 150% flying (hence the taxi) and i saw a whole bunch of them but the second i land, not one freaking owl anywhere in all of the zone. On nesingwary they're up but whatever server im merged with either doesnt have any or they were all eliminated by people looking for rares

Found one! Common, but I got it. Haven't seen any more yet, and I've flown most of the zone. Caught mine in the western part of the zone, near the little hotspring across the road from Frostfire hot springs.

Taxi's are the bane of hope...they stick you back on your home server as you fly, then toss you into another server when you land...NPC_scan, pet icons...everything...hate it.

oh god yes they are ;_; i havent used taxi's really at all anymore since i can fly but i was in a rush to get over there and it totally crushed my hopes ._. im still patrolling though, they gotta respawn sometime!

From what I have found on WoW Pets is they only seem to spawn at night or really early in the morning. Its 11:40am sever here and I can't find 1 to save my life, but people have been reporting seeing them from 8pm to 8am server time. so I'm going to try tonight and see what pops up.

Edit: And it seems a lot of people are getting the "fly in see them, land and nothing" issue with CRZ.

I went out hunting them at midnight, they were all over the place. However they seem to have a very long respawn timer. I went through pretty much every owl in the zone looking for a rare. After 30 mins none had respawned. I think if you're not finding any someone has already gone through and got them all. I will check again later to see if any are up.
