You might have noticed or you might have ignored it...
I am currently involved in some advanced training and don't have much time to browse the forums. This will take 21 months and I don't know yet, how much time I have to invest in this training.
I'm really sorry for all those who asked for signatures of me but I won't be able to continue this serve right now.

But, just like my good friend Arnold said...

OOOOOOOI'll be back...

What kind of training is it? I've been wondering a bit about where that old german guy has been. :P

I'll be a trained and certified salesman fpr wholesale and foreign trade affairs.

I dunno if this is "correct English", but then, no other country has the same training standards than Germany, where you actually learn to do a job for 3 to 4 years before you start working.

Due to health problems, I had to stop working in stores & shipment. I can't work in my first trained job a a mechanic either, so they decided to let me go learn another profession and salesman / businessman it is this time.

I don't know if starting over at age 40 is a good idea, but I'll see, I guess.

Ah, I was wondering why I hadn't seen you around lately!

Good luck with everything, hope it all works out for you. ^_^

I was indeed beginning to get a little worried. Thanks for letting us know!

Your language seems to be spot on in English. And I think starting over at any age is an exciting thing. Although I guess if you really enjoyed what you were doing before you might be quite saddened to leave it.

Oh, I never really cared for my jobs yet.

Maybe the salesman-thing will be different.

I'm not scared about starting over, I just don't know if you get a chance at age 40 when you are a noob in the job.

Thanks for the wishes, y'all!

If I may ask, is your company arranging the training? Or is this one of those European programs that we Americans wish we had?

I guess, it's something you wish you had.
But don't you think we live off the fat of the land over here!
All of these advantages, we have to pay dearly for and we don't have a choice.
They take up to 60% of your gross wages and there is nothing you can do about it.

To explain this, I'd need a lot of time and space, so just believe me, Germany is no land of plenty either...

Totally understand as I just got back from a work-related hiatus myself :D

Good luck with the training! I'm sure you'll be fine. Starting over may be tough, but it's worth it if you don't like where you are now, I'm thinking!
