This is my hunter, Rosalie, with my new favorite pet her porcupine tank Waywin. Waywin is the name of my WoW bff and I named this pet for his character because whenever I beg him to tank for me he gets prickly and mean. It made him laugh when I explained why.

This is not a rare pet. It's not a unique skin. It's plain and grey and maybe even boring to some. But having this tiny freaking porcupine tanking for my hunter is SO hilariously fun to me. This is now my favorite pet in the entire game.

Do you have any "plain and boring" pets you prefer over the more special and rare pets everyone loves?

I bond with them more then the Rares.

Most of my favorites are common pets, and even my favorite rares tend to be the more common rares (brown tarantula!).

I tend to have trouble bonding with pets that I see everywhere (especially the "special" and "rare" pets that everyone has), since it tends to make it harder for mine to establish their own personality. Fortunately, my low population server helps with that.

Out of my three most beloved pets, only the one in my signature is a rare. I would choose Hoarfrost, my (male) Frostsaber Huntress, or Xaphan, my Daggertail Lizard, over any rare you care to name. My primary pets over all of my hunters tend to be common skins, actually, and even Majime began his bond as a plain grey stone quilen.

I'm in love with Animus, my regular ol' Bronze Quilen. I have a red and a green Portent, but I never use them (I'm sure I will probably release them when I want more stable space). Animus just seems so big and snuggly, he's fast become one of my all time favorites. Lately he's gone everywhere with Kalhoun - doing dailies, faming instances, fishing, archaeology, pet battles, etc!

I wouldn't say that most of my pets are common skins, as it's more like about half of them. A couple of the rare skins I do find the most appealing, particularly Patrannache, Stonehide and Stompy. But when it comes to others…

Daphine's absolute favorite pet Genghis is, while somewhat unique, not rare. Her quilens were both Portent skins at first, but I've fallen out of love with the stone skins and she's now deciding between two of the common fleshy ones. Her favorite tough tank will always be her epic camo dragon turtle, despite how I initially wanted Bloodtooth. Her favorite cat is, at least for the moment, definitely her plain green tiger. And while I initially thought all my love went to Glimmer, I was proven wrong when I came across a common skin I liked much more.

Rassaa has a much more extreme case, with only one rarespawn pet, her Krush. All of her other pets are common and adored.

A (I suppose) boring old common pet is probably my most favorite of all!



He even has a family now thanks to pet battles! Awww baby ray!
Although given the actual population of nether rays as hunter pets, maybe we can't consider him common? (no special nether ray skins after all. Who needs 'em!)

Lotus is one of my favorite pets this expansion:

Abricots favorite is defo Prune. She is just an ordinary black skinned piglet but she goes with me everwhere




And Abricot´s next favorite is also an ordinary skinned pet Raisin. I just love his furry fluffy cuteness and it was a pleasure to quest with him in VahSHir

My waterstriders Arundo (shown in signature) and Vebri (blue cricket-type) are common skins, as is my worm Frostbite. They are some of my favorite pets!
