In need of help deciding on character appearances.

So I have two different characters that are based off of the video game, Legend of Mana. The problem is that I can not decide between a few different looks for the characters. These two different characters go together(original plan was to dual-box them but I cant afford my second account anymore).
JumiCleric is my priest and she is based off of a ruby.
JumiKnight is my paladin and he is based off of tanzanite.
I really do love horses and would love to use them but only paladins can use the red horse and my ruby Jumi is a priest and the red horse does not go well with my tanzanite paladin.
The birds go very well with my characters but I would prefer to use horses.
Should I keep my characters as they are and use the birds or should I swap their stones(even though black hair does't seem very priestlike) and use the horses? Both of them need to have either a horse or a bird because I don't want one to have a horse and the other to have a bird.
Whichever one ends up as a ruby will get a red companion stone(once i get high enough level to catch one).
