Pet talent question

Something I don't understand about a pet talent: [Combat Experience]

all three pet specs get it... and it doesn't get learned at a specific level (well, when you get talents).

so, why bother?

"increase all damage done by your pet by 50%"... an increase of 50% compared to what?

To me, it reads like a talent that says "your pet will gain a level when you do". It seems pointless. it's automatic, it's all pets, it's all specs. it just doesn't sound like a "talent" at all.

anyone hazard a guess as to the reasoning behind this non-talent talent?

A guess from me: is the number different depending on your spec?

the number of this "talent" is: 50%.. regardless of spec.
that's what I find odd.
it seems pointless.
at least, it seems pointless to say "this is a talent".

if they just said "at level X your pet's damage gets a +50% modifier" it might be more logical.

anyway, it's not an "issue", I just find it really odd and pointless.

To me, the talent says: 'The pet does 50% more damage than it normally would'. Normally, in this case, being a wild pet having the same stats as the 'tamed' pet. Whether I'm right or not, that's what it reads to me.

I -believe- this is simply the buff that is removed for stampede pets. It's how they make the pets on Stampede do 50% less damage.
