I've been noticing some off topic chatter in some threads lately so I made this thread.

Here you can stat your opinion or complain about anything in Mists, just please keep it civilized and no personal attacks on anyone. This is just a thread to get your words out so that the Sha doesn't consume your heart!

I'll start by saying I'm slightly annoyed on how battle pets are overly camped from cross realms. Been itching to get a mini infernal but there is just to many people put there.

So much this. I love alts. How on earth am I supposed to keep up with dailies? You have to have rep just to have access to valor gear. And CRZ just ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh! I chose a lower pop realm for a reason. Having to fight/wait for quest mobs on a lowbie sucks.

There is a lot good with MOP too. I like pandas and the zones are beautiful.

CRZ-drives me bonkers. If I wanted a high populated realm, I would have picked a high populated server.

I really really hate flying to go do my low level instance runs and hit an invisible wall called CRZ each time I cross a border which stalls out my game for a bit where I cannot do anything but throw my hands in the air and curse while I wait for it to finish tossing a bunch of people I have no interest in into the area I'm flying over.

I also hate that I made friends with another player on another server through an instance, and we decided to work on our low level toons together. Now when we group up, I'm forced to go to a PvP server-despise that-if she asks me to join a group. Not fun, hate it muchly.

I don't mind the CRZ, but the application is very faulty! Especially when on Flightpaths (in regards to NPC scan, and battle pet icons). Crossing into a different zone while on a multi-passenger mount caused dismounting, which is VERY annoying!

If they made CRZ, fixed the zoning in issues, and made rares/battle pets on a sort of phased thing (ie if your character is on X server and are in Y server zone, if rare has spawned on X server, you can still see/interact with it, but the player next to you who's character is on Y server cannot) then maybe it would be a bit better.

Tarn, there are addons you can get that tell the quality of the pet you are fighting, and in 5.1 it will be default in pet battles.

I just have a general MMO burnout. SWTOR turned free and I've logged 2 minutes into it as well.

Dailies were fun until I got tired of them after grinding Golden Lotus rep up to Revered. I think they should have all quest hubs avail right away, you shouldn't HAVE to do Golden Lotus in order to do Shado-Pan

I feel they forced daily quests down the throats of players this expac. It would be cool to bring back tabards and perhaps limit the rep gained per day with a tabard to 1k or 2k or something (to encourage dailies but not FORCE them).


I did enjoy the Order of Cloud Serpent dailies / egg hunt. It was fun for me. I just wish I would have had the race more often (I only got the race daily on my very last day before exhalted).

I also liked searching for those Lorewalker objects even though I eventually just youtubed them all. Was fun either way though.

Sha of Anger is annoying that he still has a silver dragon because of the NPCSCAN / Silverdragon alerts that pop up all the time. Same with Alani. They shouldn't be considered "rare" because they respawn faster than a normal mob does.

I'll be back in a few months I'm sure, its a decent expac, I just didn't like how they structured everything around doing dailies and dailies and more dailies.

(agree Tiegan, cross realm zones suck ~ if I want to be on a low-pop server to not be bugged for gathering/ rare hunting, I should be able to) ~ They should be there to help friends join with other grouped friends, but not for 2 non-grouped random players from different realms.


Better than Cata for sure, but it hasn't held me like WOTLK (my fav expac) or BC even.

Dailes: I love how we were limited to 25 per day pre-MoP because the devs were afraid of people burning out, then come MoP, they decide to remove the cap and make it the only way to gain rep with most MoP factions in order to give us "more to do". Hate it with a passion. At the very least, they could do the BC model and make dungeons give rep to the faction they're based around (ie, Shado-Pan rep for Shado Pan Monestry and/or Gate of the Setting Sun, Golden Lotus rep for Mogu'shan Palace, etc.)

CRZ: Despise this with a passion. I'm on a High Pop server, and things get even *more* crowded thanks to the extra traffic we get. Also despise seeing it in the cities. Seriously, Orgrimmar and Dalaran were busy enough already, CRZ just makes it worse. And of course, I absolutely hate it in older battlegrounds. Used to be I could take a portal in Dalaran to Wintergrasp when we had control and I wanted to do "Dangerously Delicious". Now I have to actually fly there (because the portals no longer show up even if your side has control), get bumped off my mount shortly after crossing the zone line, and hope I don't forget to get low to the ground before being dismounted. God help us if they CRZ MoP zones in the near future, there's already plenty of hate from Galleon camping as it is on my server.

No Flying until 90: I don't care about "immersion" or "enjoying the scenery", I just want to fly from point A to point B without being purposely slowed down. I can always enjoy it later, and every time they require a new special "flying license", I feel like they're taking all the time and money I spent to earn 310% flying away. It's like having a benefit stolen from you until you jump through even more bureaucratic hoops.

I really don't have any complaints. I actually like CRZ because I can actually see other people running around doing things. The dailies don't bother me either. At least we have things to do when not raiding. I'm not big on alt leveling and have never had more than one toon at max level at any time since I started playing in late 2005. I also refuse to use any Heirloom items because they just ruin the leveling experience for me. I like getting gear upgrades through quest rewards and having to basically complete all the quests in a zone before moving on and not being way OP in the process. To me the two worst additions to the game are Heirlooms and Arenas and MoP is not to blame for either one. I have a Pandaren Monk at lvl 28 but don't really plan on going much past 40 when I can buy an account wide epic Dragon Turtle mount. I just have never liked playing melee classes.

I'm anxiously awaiting 5.1 and more questing (my favorite part of the game).

I really loved collecting pet before they went all Pokemon on us. Don't get me wrong, I can see how much joy it can give others, but for me I had few things I loved about wow, and this exp fell short on most (Though still an amazing exp)

Raiding, You really had to have a LOT of time to keep up with the insane amount of dailies if you wanted to be competitive at the start. I gave it my best but the amount of time one had to sink into them to get the rep, to get the gear, to get the deeps, I struggled. To the point that someone who had no life/work/commitments and 6 hours a day to spend on wow ended up taking my raid spot because they simply spent all day on wow. I was heart breaking and now I've lost one of the things I loved.

Mini Pets, Like I said, Loved them so much, when out of my way to buy, earn, grind, achieve to get these guys. It was great. But then there was about 200 in game? Now there are so many, some just the same skin as others, but with just a different name (Really? what a waste of everyone's time) Oh and just to waste your time more there are 4 types of quality? (Again, Really? Why four, did they really think if someone cared enough to have more than a better than average pet, they would not want the best/rare? Such a waste of time, everyone looking to get the best will be like Oooo wow I got an uncommon pet, how cool!?!... NOT! /trashcan *looks for another) And again, Now my pets that I previously owned that I worked hard to get are a poor quality, so again, if I want the best, I have to go back and do it all over again... and again... and again. Yeah I'm a completionist, but the pets I loved to find now have just so many possibility and time wasting attached to them, I have not even tamed/captured (or what ever you do) a single new pet with MOP. I just cant start it atm. Oh and iff I did, trying to do this with dailies and trying to compete for raiding, what a joke.

Mounts. Oh your exalted? here have some mounts... Oh your exhaled, here, have some mounts.... That's about it for MOP.
Oh and if you have some gold, here, have a mount... The only interesting mounts are Alani, maybe challenge modes, the red cloud disk and the Astral Cloud serpent? I guess there is Son of Galleon and The Onyx God Cloud serpent, but with a 0.08% chance and you can only do that once a week... yeah that's not gonna happen. Every single other is just get some rep (which any monkey can do) or give them gold. There is no 5 man mount drop, there is no Posiden's, TLPD, Camel Statues to find, Nothing. The closest we have is Alani.

That's the 3 things I loved about wow that is now kind of moot. Don't get me wrong, I guess it's kind nice to have a lot more time to do stuff around the house and stuff, but this is the most I've felt perpetually behind the 8 ball and it's so daunting that I'm buckling and giving up on it.

I was all prepared to hate what they did to mini pets, being a mad collector like SB. I thought they were going to ruin it completely. But for the most part I don't mind it! I dislike the way they added so many at once, which drowned out any joy of them being individually special. I do like that they're introducing upgrade stones, which will cut down on the number of people wiping out every pet in an area to find a rare. But I think they way they've implemented pets means there's no functional difference between the different qualities other than rare. Either you get a rare to level, or any old quality will do. If they added more common stones that upgraded your pet by one quality then at least finding an uncommon would be worth something. I also dislike how much of a benefit speed is over everything else. The designers obviously realize this as they gear their battle masters to almost always be faster.

I'm not sure why people are so down on dailies in this expansion. To me they honestly don't feel any worse than previous expansions and are way more varied and interesting to me. It's possible, even likely, to reach exalted without experiencing all of them. Hell, even BC became dailies crazy by the end. IQD dailies were very repetitive and long. The nether drake and skyguard dailies for mounts seemed to last forever. My only real criticism (and it's a strong one) is that the Shado-Pan dailies stand out as dry and dull and horribly balanced to me. Not only is there a lot of grindy killing, but the area mobs don't seem very well balanced for solo play (even with the NPCs "helping"). One minute you can't find anything to kill, the next moment 5 unrelated groups of pats all cross your path and you're dying. The Niu Zao temple Celestials dailies seem to be the same way and I am guessing they were done by the same team.

Apart from that, I really can't complain too much. I've really enjoyed it so far. It's colourful and varied and beautiful to me.

I wanted the flippable table so I farmed for it by...farming...on my farm. >.< Ended up with 100 of each veg and 20 of each meat to turn in.

I felt really stupid today. I've been carrying around these items I find thinking they would be worth something when I hit 80 cos they have descriptions and are worth quite a bit of gold only to find out today that they are useless and are just shop fodder >.>

So now I have more bag space for food I guess? XD

I love the Expac, but there are some major bug bears:


Primarily CRZ: How much do I hate HATE HATE this "feature"? It was hard enough competing against mount and hunter pet & combat pet collectors on my med-low pop realm, but now I'm competing against some shmoe that I've never ever seen before, or will never ever see again? Aoenaxx chances now? Seriously?


Valor Points: Grinding these out is a pain. I was capped each week in Cata by Friday night, without fail. Now? Most of the time I'm barely halfway to the cap by the reset...which brings me onto:

Golden Lotus Dailies: ARRRGHHH! Until you GRIND your way to honored with these ingrates, when you finally get the more fun quests, it's kill 12 of this, kill 12 of that. While you're there, kill 8 of these, collect 8 of this thing here, and kill that large beast with over 1.5million HPs.

My mainspec is a Tankadin....

Yes, I could quite easily grab 10 mobs and burn them all down a lot quicker, and that would work fine, bar the fact that seemingly every other level 90+ char on my realm is concentrated in this one small part of an already tiny zone killing the same mobs that I'm after... Sigh.

Rep: Grinding this out through nothing but dailies? Urgh. Bring back the rep tabards, PLEASE! As a raider at least it gave me a reason to run dungeons once geared, which is something I detest pugging as a tank. And the valor isn't enough of a reason to put up with some of the arsewipes that make up the community at large...

1. CRZ - It can just go die in a fire. Okay? My friend and I have been after these Scourged Whelpings for awhile....I see them on Moon guard ALL THE TIME but the moment I land....bam! Nope! Also many friends lost TLPD and Aeonaxx this way. I get Blizz wants others to see people but this was horrid.

2. Alani's crystals - Near impossible to get unless you're SUPER lucky....--;

3. Dailies - I don't mind them....I mind the craptastical number we get for each daily when it comes to Klaxxi and Golden Lotus. Anywhere between 115 - 250. It's retarded! If they bumped it to 350 or even 440...I'd be content and it wouldn't feel like such a damn drag.

I can deal with dailies, although I am very unhappy that they are not really catering for those of us who do not like to play a main, and have many alts. Still, I knew that this was the deal when I chose my playstyle, so I guess I can't complain much.

I guess the only thing I really wish is that we'd get more xp from the dailies, like Junrei said, because it's an awfully low amount for such a lot of work.

Alani's crystals are pointless to grind for a casual player. No fun for this mount. It seemed like a fun idea at first, but stupid stupid stupid stupid. Even casuals were able to camp 30 minutes here and there in Storm Peaks hoping to get lucky. Better than "takes about 2-3 hours of killing non-stop to get 1 shard"

Or pehaps make those crystals spawn like the Camel Statues used to every 6ish hours.

Suck Lotus Dailies sucked the fun out of the game. Oh you got honored now? Great here is twice the amount of the exact same dailies for you. Oh you're at revered? Now here is 3 times the amount of the exact same dailies for you.

115 rep a piece or whatever it was did seem like Vanilla rep rewards. They did good with Tillers and Cloud Serpents and failed with golden lotus, shado-pan and celestials. You shouldn't have to make it all the way to revered with Suck Lotus to start dailies on other factions.

I do like how they did normal questing in MOP. How there are many quest hubs in each zone and there isn't much of a prerequisite needed for most hubs.
