Sick Kitty. (Update)

Had to take my poor kitty to the vet. He has been really sick the past couple days and got worse over the night. They x-rayed him and said everything looks good besides a small part of his intestines that looks like its started to twist. They think he might just be a little dehydrated and injected him with some fluid and said he can't eat or drink til tomorrow.
I really worried about him and hes decided to go and hide so I can't keep an eye on him. It had been about 7 hours since he had gotten sick and then he suddenly got sick really badly.
They said he may need surgery if he doesn't get a little better by tomorrow because there may be a blockage causing his intestines to twist even though they couldn't see anything. I don't have $1000 to get the surgery done and idk what to do. My old cat was like this and she ended up dying because we didn't have the money to take her to the vet and I don't think I can go through it again. He's basically my baby.

Is it possible to work out some sort of payment plan with the vet? Or seek assistance from an animal group, like the SPCA? Some people even seek public donations for help when their pets require treatment that is beyond there ability to pay at the time.

I asked her about payment plans and she said they don't like to do them and the only thing they could do would be to cut the payment in half. $500 before surgery and $500 a couple weeks after. I only have about $100 to last me until Feb when I get my loans for school. I'd ask my parents, but theyre having money issues atm and I don't want to add to it.
I hadn't thought about looking to see if I could get help though.

If you can't find the finances to help your kitty, it is best to euthanize to avoid unnecessary suffering. Sorry about our kitty. Hope things work out for the best.

If it gets to the point where you are considering putting him down...you can always surrender him to the care of organizations like the SPCA, who will if possible, get him fixed up then re-adopt him to another family.

We talked about that, but he doesn't do well around people he doesn't know. If I'm there its fine, but if I'm not they get torn up.

well, like I said, if it gets to the point where your considering putting him down whats better for him? Getting fixed up and learning to adapt to a new family, or being dead?

Some cats CANNOT adapt to a new family. They focus on one family, one person and they cant get used to newer things. If her cat is like that and he cant be saved than perhaps that is better for him. I know my cat hates other people, hes my cat. He couldnt stand being in a home with another family, hes a one person cat.

Yeah thats how he is.
Today he was acting normal and had only gotten sick once during the night. The vet said he seemed to be getting better. He ended up vomiting blood about an hour ago. Vet said to keep an eye on him and if he keeps doing it to let her know and she'll see what she can do. He was starting to act normal this morning and he decided to come and sit with me (he had been ignoring me yesterday and staying away from me).
I started looking into places that would help pay for his surgery and I think I might have found one that would help. Sadly I dont think theyre back in until Friday. I match 2 of the requirements they have and I've sent in a request. I'm still looking to see if I can find others.

How much blood did he vomit? I can't believe the vet took a wait and see approach with this. It's possible the blood is from irritation from getting sick so much, but if the possibility of twisted intestines exists, that's pretty much as emergency as the twisted part can die from lack of blood flow.
As for places not being open because of the holiday, you may need to find an emergency clinic.

It wasn't very much, but I think he urinated some blood. I called the vet right when it happened and I'm waiting for her to call back because she was busy with an animal.
I've been trying to reach a couple of our emergency vets, but no one has been answering. I want to ask them if they could do possible payment plan or something. I'm getting money from my school loan soon, but apparently not soon enough for my vet to set up a plan with me.

My cat seems to be almost all better now. He's playing, hes acting normal, and he sort of has an appetite back. He threw up only once today and that was around 5am. No more vomiting or urinating blood and he actually tried to steal some of our turkey today.
Seems like whatever he had has passed, but I'm going to keep an eye on him over the next few days just in case. I'm going to call the vet tomorrow and tell them.
He's currently in the hallway throwing one of his toys around

Good to hear he's doing better. One thing that came to my mind: do you have any rodenticides placed in your house? This stuff is an anticoagulant and if Kitty happened to eat some, or to eat a poisoned mouse, this could be the reason why he was bleeding.

Nah only rodents we have in our house are my 3 rats. I was worried he had gotten into my moms medicine though because yesterday we were looking for her authenticator and I found a dozen of her pills in one of her hiding spots. I almost killed her because she knocked her pills off her stand all of the time and takes days to pick the bottles up.

It's been a while since the last update - is your cat doing okay now? It's always terrifying when animals are sick because they often hide it well, and they can't tell us what feels bad or what they might have gotten into. Hope he's alright.

You must be psychic. I was actually getting ready to make an update because he's sitting here murdering one of my socks and it made me think about this.
He seems to be perfectly fine now. He went from vomiting to sneezing like crazy. Now he's hes normal insane self

Woke up yesterday to him drooling on my face because he fell asleep on my pillow. He's back to stealing my clothes from my dresser and hiding under stuff and charging our at people yowling and trying to tackle them. I love my kitty who thinks hes a dog.
He doesn't seem very fond of string anymore which makes me think maybe thats why he got sick. He just kinda watches it, but wont chase it anymore. Other than that hes just as playful as always.
This is what hes doing atm (sorry its blurry)
