Ashamed to be a hunter

Well, I went to the Blizz page for hunter input and I'm ashamed to be a hunter right now. I only made it through the first six pages before the word "HUNTARD" was screaming through my brain. First of all, all they asked for is suggestions for new pets. Why are there posts concerning pet abilities??? Is it so hard to understand what they asked for? Secondly, between the idiots who want Blizz to make EVERYTHING tamable, there are the idiotic posts like ferrets and moles. I mean really, is this productive?
Is it just me or does anybody else think that a golden opportunity is being wasted because of "huntards". At last count I saw 43 pages and if I were on Blizz's payroll and had to look through them, my report would be to just make anything they want as a new pet since the ppl who are going to use them are idiots!

I must admit I cringed when I read through some of the replies. I saw several tame a druid/gnome posts. There were some good replies too though.

I think it's encouraging to know that they're willing to do something like start a thread to read the community's input as a whole. Sure there's always going to be people who blurt out ridiculous things, but the fact that Blizzard wants to listen to us and find out our opinions on what is largely an aesthetic feature for one class...I think that's really awesome. I think we hunters are rather spoiled with the plethora of amazing creatures we have available for taming. They certainly didn't have to put in so many options for us.

I'd say not to worry about the bulk of the posters there. Blizzard can pick out the suggestions that they know are sincere or the ones that have great ideas. I'm personally just really grateful that they're giving us this chance to speak up about what we'd like to see.

Oh I absolutely agree on that Veph...I just wish we didn't have so many doofi (plural of doofus) putting their 2 cents in and making us look bad.

I definitely know what you're saying, those type of people can be rather irksome (especially when they're out there representing your favourite class), however I just have some faith that after dealing with the chaos of the WoW community for so many years Blizzard is smart enough to recognize those that are just trolling and to ignore them and those who have some really good input. :)

That is a little depressing, but one needs to expect trolls and morons on a forum as huge as that. Blizzard is probably used to it by now. I doubt they'd listen to the silly/stupid posts and will probably focus more on the actual, real, productive ones.

And like Veph said, it's good that they're even listening at all!

It's fine to make the gnome/druid crack, so long as you actually say something USEFUL afterwards. People are also taking that time space to, like was said, suggest other class changes, and other pet changes. It just bugs me when so many spaces are taken up by stupidity, when there is a post limit.

Yeah some of those posts were quite wierd.. taming a druid or a gnome? like are you kidding me??? seriously? thankfully there were alot of productive posts so I am sure blizzard will just by pass those who are ignorant and look at the ones who are actually putting their two cents in to help the hunters as a whole :)

Yeah, Blizz is expecting the normal load of things that people say thinking they're clever/funny. I'd still hate to be the guy who has to sift through it all though. We should send him a thank you card...

Hey! Do not knock the taming of gnomes or druids! I want a druid kitty/bear!

I must admit I was one of those people who said all beasts should be tamable but put a   after simply because of the simple fact that no, not all should be tamable.

All I stressed was elite tags and special attacks from elite pets. But yes I saw way way way to many stupid posts. Strangely I even read post of people making request who openly admitted they don't have a hunter character. WTH!! Why give your opinion on a class you're not even in??????????????

i share your pain. but by the looks of it, so did someone else, i remember reading a post by someone who basically said the same thing, 'you're wasting a valuable opportunity with unrealistic requests' or something. i think it was page 33 or 34 or something. in anycase, i like whoever that person is

Just because they don't have a hunter doesn't make it a bad request, especially for something that's just aesthetic.

Also, every class has its idiots, not just hunters.

As much as some of the "tame a dragon/murloc/succubus/GMs" annoyed me, I think the thing that got to me the most were the numerous post of people just asking for a way to rename their pets. :x
I mean really, I know that we were only given the ability to do so over a year ago but come on guys use the noggin.
I did love some the the suggestions thought. I hope that whole exercise of asking for pet ideas bears fruit. <= puns, I like them.

Kinda feel sorry for the Blizz employee tasked with shifting through the nonsense for those small, precious granules of sense. But hey, that's why they pay them the big bucks :P

And here's to hoping that they actually use those small, precious granules of sense.

I hope they do something to make the taming process maybe a bit more interesting. I mean the 2 most interesting tames we've had where the ghost wolf and the worgen.

One took teamwork and a bit of luck getting your tame time under 8 seconds, and the other was starting your tame at the right time to maintain a special skin.

Now granted both were not planned, but if they could plan something it could be cool! Like maybe have a vendor bought item you have to use when you engage the beast in combat to make it sleepy enough to start your tame beast channel. Or more teamwork tames, like a priest having to MC a different npc to cast an ability on a beast for you to tame it.

ANYTHING would be better than camping for SB's =(
