Well. As mentioned in a prior post, my luck seems to be boundless at times. Shame this luck does not manifest itself in the form of the Time Lost Proto Drake.

So. Two spirit beasts in five minutes. It cost me releasing two very beloved pets:
1 White Ashenvale Wolf.
1 Scarlet Tracking Hound / Hyena


The Story:

Well I popped in on my Priest when I got back from an Interview today. I had plans to go out and work on my Wintersaber rep. (AMG I hate grinding for meat that never drops), when Lakaria pages me and asks:

"Hey. Do you happen to what a ghostly bear?"


Really? O_O; Well I decided since it was the last Spirit Beast my blood elf hunter needed to have all spirit beasts, I took up the offer. Lakaria stood there and kept the mob tagged to herself until I managed to get my hordie toon to her. Managed to get Arcturis!

So after much rejoicing in our Petopians channel, Lakaria pipes up again.

"Hey! I found Gondria now too!"

No way. So I zip out on Phyra and drop in beside her. Originally I was very reluctant to make an effort to tame. It meant I had to get rid of my raiding wolf --- since the rest of my stable was full of hard to obtain rares. After about 10 minutes of desperately trying to find guildies or other hunters who wanted to tame her (neither of us wanted to see her dead), I said screw it and dropped the wolf and tamed Gondria.

Lakaria is my good luck charm So there's my bit of good luck. I figured if I decide I don't want the cat, I can ditch her for a raiding wolf later on.


Cataclysm and its extra stable slots cannot come soon enough!

And Sarayana! We were so hopeful you'd pop on D:
We weren't sure if you were looking for Gondria, but it was past her 'despawn' timer. The only reason she didn't despawn is Lark' in tree form sat there dancing with her (letting Gondria attack her) to keep her tagged and active.



Do let us know, Sar, if there are any shiny pets you're after!

Do all these rares really have a despawn timer? Has anyone actually seen a rare just vanish into thin air? I do believe the accounts I hear of TLPD having a despawn timer, since it drops a mount. But I'd be surprised to hear that rares like Gondria and Skoll and whatnot have a despawn timer. I figured they would just stay up until someone killed or tamed them.

Aww thanks guys! <3 I actually am not looking to replace any pets now. I let go of Gondria to get Skoll, since he's the spirit beast I've really had a long distance love affair with since he was first made public... However! I like the idea of taming Arcturis a lot. If I had a chance to tame him, I'd have to have a serious debate with myself about my stables. (I have Atha, Clutchmother, the ghost saber, Skoll, and my trusty grey spiky raptor right now. I'm not keen on abandoning any of them. It'd really feel like abandoning...)

As of right now, my plan is to leave spirit beast camping until after we get more stable slots with the Cata launch patch... Then I'll go after both Arc and Loque. Along with every other hunter that plays WoW, of course. >_<
