An observation I realized.

If you learned one before the hotfix, it was uncommon and will stay uncommon. If you bought it before the fix and then learned it after the fix, it will become rare. Of course buying one now, it will always be rare.

If you bought an uncommon but want it to be rare, you can of course use a battle-stone. But here's the thing...

You can BUY a rare one at the fair once a month at anytime, but your uncommon one is now retired and basically grandfathered.

So, ya. The Uncommon one just became "Legendary" and the Rare became "Uncommon".

Not...sure how that makes it legendary. It'll be the exact same as the rare. Legendaries are more powerful than rares. I mean if I see someone with an uncommon pet, it's not gonna make me go "OMG LUCKY!" cause it's the same pet I have just...green. I mean unless there's a huge stat difference, I'd say the people who bought it previously got jipped, imho.

Well, as I don't really want to buy a second one, I'll probably box it up and swap with guildmates that have some interest in collecting companions, but aren't really into the battle aspect of it.

I really don't understand why they couldn't just hotfix ALL the hatchlings. :/ I'm sure it's a behind the scenes issue, but they've changed others before, haven't they?

Wouldn't the best course of action be to report this as a bug in-game so that even learned versions before fix, get fixed to? They have changed pet quality's of learned pets before, so the ability is there.

I'm with Makoes and Kalliope on this one.

I don't feel we should be penalized for something that was eventually hotfixed as an afterthought. And by "penalized", I mean any player who has already spent their 90 tickets to obtain the pet and then added it to their campanion's tab immediately upon redemption. As the rule currently stands, a player would need to spend another 90 tickets in order to learn another Darkmoon Hatchling with slightly superior stats and/or waste one of their precious battle stones - which could otherwise go towards upgrading a different companion pet - just to upgrade their original DH to rare status. Doesn't seem very fair to me.

The best thing for the company to do in this situation is to hotfix all previously learned DH pets to rare status.

Blizzard may be looking into doing just this thing, but I find it odd they didn't take the initiative and do so with the hotfix. If they're not looking into it already, I'd certainly like to know why not?

According to the WCP forums they're giving out battlestones in the mail to fix the quality for players who submit a ticket about their Darkmoon Hatchling: http://www.warcraftpets.com/community/f ... 2&start=40

Perhaps the nature of it was too awkward to apply in a hotfix, but at least they've addressed it.

Hmm, I did go ahead and submit a ticket explaining that I bought mine before the hotfix, and the GM did send a flawless critter stone to upgrade it.

I also mentioned the Red Cricket which, as some people know, currently comes out random in terms of quality, which is very disappointing considering all the time I spent trying to get Best Friend with Sho. I ended up with a poor. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask for a stone for that and was told they couldn't hand out upgrades at this time because the developers hadn't said if that was intentional or not.

So here's the thing... I'm tempted to use the battle stone on the Red Cricket instead. I can live with the uncommon Darkmoon Hatchling (or trade up, which was my plan before) but the poor quality cricket is just awful, especially since I'd planned to use it for battles. Would that be wrong of me?

The GM did suggest opening a bug report and bringing up the cricket there as well.

Just ticketed my darkmoon hatchling aswell.. worth a shot.

I was wondering why my hatchling was uncommon not rare....hopefully my ticket gets a proper response.

Ticketed my hatchling, received a battlestone for her today. Upgrade complete!
