I was thinking about how popular Pet battles have become, and wondered what Blizzard had in mind for the future. Eventually people will have all the pets they want, have completed the quest and will be left with little incentive to keep playing.

What you guys like to see in the future with Pet Battles ? Thoughts, ideas ?

the 2nd blue post mentioned pet battles as one of future sources of lesser charms, as well as some exp for characters under the cap level. I like that

There will always be more pets to catch. I expect Thunder Isle in 5.2 will have all new species, as well as raid drops and reputation faction rewards.

With so many pets, getting them all to lv 25 will be a challenge. Then there's building teams for the pvp matches, finding different combo's. Obtaining all obtainable pets, colors, specialties (atk/spd/hp). Collecting battle stones from wild battles for re-sale, collecting stones from pet bags for improving own pet quality. Re-obtaining multiples of pets, leveling and re-selling them...I don't think I'll run out of anything to do with battle pets for a long time yet.

My to-do list for pet battles is daunting, so I don't think it will run out soon. Especially since I found out about breeds of pets. That added a whole new level to it.

I'd like to see pokemon-style stadium play sort of like the brawlers guild with levels and people watching and tons of cool rewards.

I'm one of those people who has at least one of everything that can be caught, in uncommon or better (except the Sumprush Rodent), and yet I don't see an end in sight to pet battles. Now I'm trying to get rares of my favorite skins and colors. And I'm flying all over to do every single pet battle daily in hopes for more upgrade stones. And I'm trying to level my entire favorites list to level 25.

It's ironic that the one feature that I thought I'd have no use for, is the one feature I'm logging in every day for.

What I would like to see is maybe some way to get dye jobs for pets with multiple skins, maybe in exchange for JPs or lesser coins or something like that. I know it's a silly thing but I really get it in my head that a certain pet should be a certain color. It drives me crazy when a rare pops up but it's not the color I've been looking for, and now that they hotfixed the "Alt-F4 until you get the right skin" trick, I end up having to go through twice, three times the amount of effort for each pet.

Also would like to see more gear like the Safari Hat. It's so useful I end up forgetting that I'm wearing it and doing my non-pet battle dailies with it on!

It would be nice, if you could tell if pet was a rare before engaging. in battle.

lol, then no "trash" pets would be interacted with, which would of course make ALL battle-pets trash as rare spawns are nabbed and respawns are not.

Except if you'd like to just level your pets. Rare and "trash" give just as much exp, but the "trash" are much, much more easier to down.

well they wont despawn when you forfeit the battle, in the new patch. So that's a start. the only catch, is all of your pets take a small amount of dmg when you do. this can suck when yuou are trying to get the order you want on a battle pet tamer.

Fomr what I gather, no. You don't take damage from Alt-f4ing. However, if a pet dies in a battle, it won't come back from Alt-f4ing. So no more cheating if you accidentally kill a rare in a pet fight.
