I Only Wanted Screenshots!

This was largely an accident. An accident I'm happy with. Last night I'd simply gone out to see if Sunwing was up in order to take a screenshot, as I enjoy doing with any rare spawn. Of course he wasn't up when I first arrived. I dithered for a moment as I cursed CRZ again and as I turned to leave lo and behold he spawned right in front of me.
So I had to.

"He" became "she" and may well be a potential mate for Argorok, Varethyn's iconic golden dragonhawk :) Fun/silly thing is, during the day while I was out finishing up my Christmas shopping I had found myself thinking about Dark Link from the Legend of Zelda and how funny/silly it would be to have dark/shadow versions of my elves. That in turn went into dark/shadow versions of Var's pets with Sunwing as "Dark Argorok" xD

Then it happened again. This morning I went to Winterspring to finish up getting screenshots of some of the rare spawns up there - including Manas. In truth I should have left it a little later as it hadn't been that long since the servers came back up from maintenance. That didn't stop me checking of course. And of all the rare spawns that were up at the time? Deep Tunneller (dead, killed by a quester who passed me while I was checking map locations and killed him by the time I got down there), Bruiser and, you guessed it, Manas. There was another quester hanging around Bruiser so I took a quick snap and then left him to his fate. Manas was more than untouched. No one else was around at all. I got my shot but...
I also got another dragonhawk.

I love, love his black beak tip against his silver body :3

That's not all though. As I was admiring all three of my feathered reptilians it dawned on me that along with some other 'hawk colours they gradually faded into each other. Sort of. So...
Image
From left to right:
Charna, the black, is a sweet but shy little girl who prefers to hang back and let everyone else handle things unless she is desperately needed. She does have a playful side, enjoying nipping her master. Primarily on the ears.
Argyros, the silver, is more vain than even Argorok. He loves attention just as much except he spends a lot more time preening or otherwise keeping himself clean and tidy. Rarely will he fight and abhors dirty places. Rather antisocial unless he's being admired.
Ianthe, the blue, is the calm and gentle one, the one who will happily accompany a person (or avoid them if they so prefer) and the one who will take her time to comfort someone who is upset. Motherly, she enjoys taking care of the younglings of any species and will do almost anything she's asked to.
Sera, the red, is fiery-tempered and unpredictable. She's the one you would most likely see charging into battle whether she's told to go in or not and attacks viciously. A bit of a pyromaniac she will try to set as many foes and as much of her surroundings on fire as she can. Also antisocial in that she prefers to be alone, and will lash out if someone invades her privacy.
And of course Argorok, the gold, is Varethyn's iconic pet. Attention-loving and easily distracted by shiny objects he will often perform tricks in order to turn heads his way and is something of a hoarder. He is otherwise loyal and affectionate, particularly towards his master.

Problem now is... what in the heck am I supposed to do with five dragonhawks?! xD

That's such a cool picture. Nice composition. And you're right--the five of them do form a color gradient.

Best looking Stampede on the Sever. So true, Magli.
I have a smiler problem, but with windserpents. I currently have two, and I'm planning to get three more... :?

Feed them lots of dragonhawk kibble?
I have this problem with goats and quilen. I try to let them go free to go about their little goat-y or quilen-y lives....but they come back >.<

Yep, yep!

I also have a line-up of Dragonhawks for Auroryn! They compliment my Blood Elf so well, I can't bear to let any of them go.

I also have 5 spiders for Synestra and 5 raptors for Kadija.

In my opinion, having a themed set of pets from the same family is so much fun! You can spec each one the way you want to best maximize your fighting needs so why not keep them all!?

Thanks for all the positivity. Lots of dragonhawk kibble and random bouts of Stampeding it is! :D
It took quite a few attempts to get them all to line up properly and sit still long enough to get that shot. More often than not they preferred to turn their backs on the camera or cover each other with their (pretty!) wings.

I'll admit, this isn't the first time I've had more than one of a family. Several times I've tamed King Mosh, in my mind mis-gendered as male by devilsaur-spotters and is in fact female, to be a mate for my gorgeous green giant, Malladus, though I sadly never kept her for long. I also currently have four of the Spirit Beasts (Arcturis, Loque, Skoll and Karoma) who I cycle through based on how many dungeons and raids they've been taken to xD Yet five dragonhawks seemed oddly excessive, particularly since Argorok is Varethyn's iconic pet.
