Using Flawless stones on the "old pets"?

So, alot of the "old pets" (read: non-wild, vendor, quest, etc pets) come in only uncommon. Alot of them come only in one breed too, which seems to be a 3/13 way too often. But, 2 of the 4 stones I've gotten, I've used to upgrade "old" pets. Is this a waste of stones, in your guys opinion, or not? I used one on my Oracle Hatchling and Wolvar Pup (both of which only come in 3/13, sadly).

For me, there's no way that a stone is a waste on something you can't get rare any other way. In fact, this to me is the best chance to use it. You can always catch a rare wild creature (given time and patience). You'll never be able to catch a rare Oracle hatchling or Wolvar pup.

I agree, most of my stones will be going to non-wild pets. At this point, I'm not picky about breeds. And honestly, if having to have the exact right breed becomes mandatory, pet battles will stop being fun for me.

100% agreed that it's not a waste; I've spent most of my upgrade stones on non-wild pets so far.

I agree with everyone above. The only stone I've used on a wild tamed pet was on a poor quality Minfernal, due to how bad the spawn rates are and the fact that I was wanting to use it in combat. Otherwise I have only considered non-wild pets for upgrades, because there's no other way to improve their stats.

I used two stones on catchables: Wanderer's Hatchling, and Minfernal, for the same reason: spawn rate and heavy camping. Other than that, every one of my rare 'capturable' pets was gotten the straight up way: capturing them.
I also had the advantage of spending two entire weeks doing pet stuff before I ever started leveling, though, so nowadays it may be a *lot* harder. But still possible.
