World Boss Changes

* All world bosses are now Tap to Faction. This new system offers every eligible player of the same faction that engages a boss the chance to earn loot. Under the new system, players will only be able to earn loot from each world boss once per week, but bonus rolls apply. Bosses will now respawn more frequently as well.
I REALLY like this. Really really like this idea. Kudos Blizz!

No more annoying process of tag passing? Yes please!

Should be fun for Galleon too.

This is how I thought it should have been (and for a while, thought it was) from the start. Props to Blizzard for putting it in.

Oh, this is absolutely *SWEET*. No more need for trying to get into a raid. You fly through, see that a Sha raid is going on, and all you need to do is drop and join in the DPSFest.

Especially since Galleon's respawn timer is dropping, YAY!

I wonder how often Galleon will be respawning. Maybe it'll be frequent enough so that my characters on a Horde-weak server can have a shot at him for once...

Only one downside... it might make it even harder to get groups later in the week...

Thank Elune! Horde always gets him on MG and it makes me cry. XD

oh good! The hunt for Gal is a nightmare on my server and we are a low pop realm. Even with guilds who oversee everything, a worldwide chat, designated campers and a system for sharing the tags- there are always a ton of people who just don’t get an invite in time. Can’t wait for this!

Yea... I don't remember where it was (twitter I think?) was on MMO-Champion the other day.
Galleon's timer is being reduced, but Oondasta is going to take it's place as the hard to find raid boss. :S

...I wonder how this will effect lag during the fights, especially if the zone gets packed as everyone vies for a chance at loot.

Horribly
It's funny. As WoW has progressed over the years the game's performance has really gotten much worse. Even as PC's have been upgraded with many multiples of performance compared to 8 years ago, 25 man raids really stress even a cutting edge PC let alone 40 man (or more with world bosses). I recall running 40 man MC/BWL and Naxx back in the day on a bottom end PC with 50-60 fps at all times. On a brand new high end PC 25 man raids see frame rates 35-60 and on 40 mans they can dip down as low as 20.
I know that Blizzard have tried to incorporate higher quality gfx and have moved to supporting DX11 rendering but these performance penalties should be well and truly offset by the massive increase in PC performance over the last 8 years, unless of course, the game engine has become bloated and un-optimized.

Considering how long it took them to fix the massive memory leak in wow I wouldn't be surprised if the engine was still a pile of shit.
NGL I'm not sure if the mem leak was fully fixed.

Indeed. The memory leaks are still around. It's what causes the crashes but they're not an easy fix. That's going to take a lot of time and likely they're working on it.

But Blizz can only put so many band-aids on it before the problem gets too messy, and the game explodes within' itself.

Considering the memory leak thing hasn't exploded yet, I doubt it's gonna explode. Like I said, permanent fixes take a long time to work on.
