Zarhym's twit;

Removing main-hand/off-hand Xmog restrictions maybe by 5.2. Also allowing Xmog of weaps w/ similar anims (2H axe/2H sword, etc).
Problem right now is fist weapons can be quite big, & Monk anims are detailed enough that these weapons cause bad art clipping.
I discussed w/ @Ghostcrawler & he's going to see if we can make polearm Xmog work for War/DK/Ret weapon types. Want to!

Only transmog thing I care about is if they will ever let us transmog legendaries..

This. But being able to transmog our favorite weapons with more options is cool.

For example "Sadly I have to say goodbye to my awesome looking sword because this mace/axe is a big upgrade"

This news is more exciting for non-hunter classes, since we can already mog bows to guns and vice-versa. Fingers crossed for them! :)

I'd kind of like to know what the "etc." in Zar's post refers to. I actually have a Rogue who would love to xmog any 1H weapon she gets into the Fist of the Deity.

Also, the Witch Hunter's Harvester looks sooooo sick for a Frost Death Knight (or any Death Knight for that matter :D ), so it'd be nice if all 2H weapons were compatible with each other.

They clarified that Fist weapons won't work in this situation, at least not for 5.2. (Can't find the tweet xD)

It's because Fist Weapons use the unarmed animation, whereas all 1h weapons use a 1h weapon animation.

I would like to be able to change my mail armor to cloth or leather (plate is pushing it) to be honest, but I'm not sure if they'll ever let transmog get that far.

This sounds like good news for my DK as well as my shaman! :D I greatly prefer swords over axes for example. (And axes over maces, sometimes.)
Staves <-> Polearms would be a great addition as well seeing as both are a tad limited on their own when it comes to colour choices.

Though I am happy for those people excited about the new two handed/one-handed rule, I have to say the only thing that would excite me would be the ability to trasmog Legenderies.
I have a bow staring me in the face...

the one thing i'd like the most is if they let cross-character swap, i've got lots and lots of old retired (junk) on my main bluddy who can't use for transmog :/

this is great news though :)

I wasn't too concerned about legendaries and transmog until Garr finally dropped his bindings during my warrior's weekly MC trip. I've had the other bindings since MC was actual endgame content back in Vanilla and have been trying for Garr's for years.

Do staves, polearms, and 2h maces/axes/swords all use different animations?

I know you can transmog 2h Axe to 2h Mace or 2h Sword.

I know polearms cannot be mogged to any of those, and vice versa.

But can staves be mogged to anything?

I would love if Polearms could be transmoged on to 2h axe, 2H mace or 2H sword. Hellreaver would be back on my paladin pronto. I held onto that as her weapon until I was literally forced to upgrade. :D

I recall on twitter a few days ago they want to make polearms moggable from 2h axe/mace/sword, for warriors, pallys, and DKs who always wanted str. polearms, but they're not sure it will make 5.2.

We'll see though. ;D

I just want polearms to be moggable into staves and vice versa.
