Need help with NPCscan

I notice with NPCscan it doesn't seem to work for new rares in 5.1 or any old world rares.
Obviously I would like it to since it will help me listen for when a rare spawns when I have the game alt tabbed.
Right now I am camping arconiss, a serpent with a unique skin in silithus and was wondering if there was anyway to get NPCscan or another add to work with this?
Otherwise I am just going to have to repeatedly tab back into the game every so often.

You need to know the NPCID for the rare you are looking for to add it manually to NPCScan. Thankfully it's easy to find this out. Just look at Acroniss on Wowhead and copy the number at the end of the url, in this case 50737 and add it into NPCScan.
If I remember correctly if you are alt-tabbed NPCScan will not sound. You need to put WoW in windowed mode. Then you can put WoW in the background to whatever else you are working on.

NPCscan went off while I was alt tabbed playing oblivion. I had just enough time to switch to wow to find a horde hunter taming him. He was only lvl 70 so I 1-shot him and proceeded to tame my prize!

You're correct, Wildcat. Infact, I'm extremely disappointed in you, Xannik. That is considered griefing and you stole a tame from someone else who started their tame before you. Hunters that do that are the kind we end up ranting about from such beastly behavior. :/ You did what we tell others NOT to do, no matter what kind of server you're on.

Quick statement here, so that you know the general stance on things by Blizzard and people here.
By the rules of the game, what you did wasn't wrong at all, and you're entitled to it. Horde vs Alliance is encouraged on a PVP site.
By the views of the people here, PVP or PVE, we are a community of hunters. We encourage... well... community, in the love for pets. Killing a hunter in the act of taming a pet is definitely not part of community. It's definitely not something to bring up here as something to be proud of! Especially since that level 70 hunter may very well be one of the very people that you're talking to.
In other words, if you *do* do this activity, bringing it up here is tantamount to logging on to a vegetarian website and posting a recipe for hamburger tartare.

Pretty sure cannibalism isn't okay with vegetarians.
