Looks qiraji.

Seems to fit more of the thunder isle stuff to me personally with the dark base and gold outlining.

Looks Mogu to me. Since the Shao-Tien had cannons, perhaps they knew how to produce gunpowder since ages, so a new rare archaeology project might give us a Mogu-style gun. Then I wonder, what would the new Pandaren rare artifact be?

Actually, I think it is Mantid-styled.

It made me think shado-pan.

This black-ish tint and gold "trim" definitely reminds me of Shao-Tien cannons. Mantid would have more amber elements (and there's no Mantid archaeology). Shado-Pan... I think their guns usually have those dragon/cloud serpent elements.

Hmmm... Doesn't guarantee we'll actuallly see it, but it would be nice. However, unless it's a reasonable ilvl (496), there won't be much point in hunting for it unless the model is really good for tmogging.

There isn't a mantid-style weapon in the game to match the other mantid-based weapons. There's a Klaxxi gun, but it looks far from Mantid-style. xD

Mantids are related to the Qiraji so it could be both *shrug*

Just saying the Quriaji would mean it being found in sillithus... :-/

There is no Qiraji archaeology. There is Nerubian, but that's not the same. Most Qiraj-ish artifacts in arch have been split between Nerubian and Tol'vir as I recall.

It would be interesting if it were Mantid, but that would require a new race being added to archaeology unless they do like the Scepter and 'whoops, how did the Pandaren/Mogu get a hold of this?' I do think it will be Pandaren, Mogu, or a new race...but I could easily be wrong, as they've added things to old races in the past in order to flesh them out.

the design of the tooltip reminds me of Mantid armor that their warrior's wear. Also, even though Klaxxi doesnt use guns or gunpowder, they -do- have a gun sold by their quartermaster It'll definitely prolly belong to one of the Mists races for archy, but it will probably speak of the mantid im sure. The colors and trim just look far too bug-y to me.

It does remind me of their armor, and their seige weaponry. Similar sleek dark rounded curves with gold trim.

There are several Klaxxi-sounding archaeology finds data-mined here. Looks like we'll be getting Klaxxi archaeology after all.
(I'm hoping for a Garalon-like mount or pet )

MANTID ARCHAEOLOGY?

Thanks, Blizz, you got another couple of days of me flying around Pandaria for next to reason.

Have any sites posted the model for this yet? Because I can view them in WMV. They have laser sights and there are four colours:



From the model, I'm still not sure what branch of archae I think they should belong to. :/
