Dinomancers Question

I was just wondering, how strong are the dinomancers? My hunters gear still has some greens though I'm trying to get him better gear from scenarios.

They are easily soloable if you just pluck them apart and don't try to take multiple at once. The only problem is that they take quite a while to kill.

(They were no problem with the occassional mend pet [after their transformation] on a Goblin Hunter in naught but heroic blues.)

I might be stupid but... those dinomancers can heal, how can I get them down? I can use scatter shot, intimidation, silencing shot... but still they get heals through. I have no idea how to solo them as a hunter...

I had no trouble killing them on a premade. I had no pets when I logged in and didn't stop for any until I got to the Isle the other day. I suppose having a Devilsaur as a tank helped me out some since they have Monsterous Bite which reduces healing received. Otherwise, perhaps make sure to have Widow's Vemon up every 30sec after it drops? That should keep them from healing tooooo much.

Or just spec for silencing shot, since everyone can do that now.

If Silencing Shot is still prone to that lockout bug... I don't know if it is, but I know there was a bug with Silencing Shot where it'd apply the silence but not the lockout, so chain-casting heals was a very possible thing that always happened. a.k.a. the reason Pandaren rares LIKE AI RAN were a complete pain in the butt until I started using my nether ray.

Anyway, the pets with interrupts work correctly regardless, so nether ray/gorilla/moth if all else fails. Who knew Terrato's rise to fame in MoP would be because of Nether Shock?

Scatter shot followup, intimidation, pet interrupt - we have lots of options, even without a lockout. :D

What's funny is.....I didn't even -realize- they had a heal. My premade and my new devil 'Rawr' were just having a jolly good time barreling through them. xD I just hope the droprate stays about where it is. It's not terribly grindy to get a book at all! Just a little persistence needed right now. I'm really crossing my fingers on that.

I had no problem with them in questing gear before the latest patch but afterwards I am...is the healing new?

It's possible that different Dinomancers have different abilities. Look at the creatures in the Molten Front for the achievement: some have and use the special abilities, some don't. That would be my guess, anyhow.

What do you (anyone) to interrupt the dinomancer's heal spell? (as a hunter) I know there must be something. thanks!

Haven't been to PTR but my guesses:
-Silencing shot
-Intimidate
-Gorilla's Pummel
-Wasp's Sting
-Moth's Silence

Yeah, all interrupts or stuns are optional for hunters, but there are multiple options.

So are they kinda like the Panda rares? You know how you have to stop their heal if you ever want to kill them etc?

All this sounds like to me that they are kinda like the MOP rares and I liked them XD

Wyvern sting and ice trap can also be used to interrupt if they are not immune to CC, and widow's venom can be kept up on them just in case they do get a heal off, so they don't get healed for as much.

Scatter shot works as well, IIRC.

With the Pandaren Rares, I'd usually Silencing Shot, and if the lockout bug happened, Scatter Shot, Readiness, and Silencing Shot again.

If it happened AGAIN, I'd Scatter Shot > Freezing Trap til Silencing was off cooldown. xD Though a few of the pandaren rares are immune to freezing trap.
