Is his id 50843 across the board? or do I need to put in a different id for each color like madexx?

I think it's the same ID(I could be wrong) but he's not in NPCScan anyways cause...well....he's not a rare. He's an elite. :3

Not sure if it'll go off for him due to being hidden until flare'd

It wont. NPCScan is useless for the 'invisible' pets. :3 Trust me....I've camped Portent for days. His spawn timer is extremely short though.

His spawn timer is 1-2 hours. It shocked me at first, because I tamed him, then went off to do some Cloud Serpent dailies, came back for the archeology dig that happens to be in the middle of part of his path... and there were his tracks. O.o It'd roughly been an hour and a half since I had tamed him. I'd come out and help you hunt for his stone butt, however, my account is offline for the month. x.x

The main thing I did was just kind of memorize his path, and fly to one point, then idly head over to the other end, and eventually, his tracks popped up. :)

He spawns at one spot, which is near the Horde shrine. Camp right on the tiny kill where the mongoose lookin pets are, you'll be golden.

Yes, all his skins have one ID. Madexx is a bunch of models. Portent is one model that shifts colors. If they hadn't updated the 'color fast' code, he'd be a color changing pet. ;) Although like people pointed out: unless you're right there when he spawns, it won't go off for him unless someone has a tamed one. You'll need to track him.

Wait, what? Are you saying a split second after he spawns, he's visible then disappears?

All of the invisible rares do that - or did that, at least. I physically saw Portent do it on the beta.

I never mention it, since it seems like an unintended side effect of the mechanic.

I camped him on live, the exact spot he spawns, and he didn't do that so I don't think he does that anymore.

... note to self... dusty tracks mentioned in Kalliope video does not actually me there is a dusty visible effect.... spent the last few days trying to see these tracks that never existed.... until I finally noticed tracks on the ground named dusty tracks >.> I feel stupid... I've been off the hunting game for far to long.

That's why I included shots of the tracks themselves, and screenshots of them in the original Where the Wild Things Are thread. D:

Well, at least you found him! :) And you know where to look in case you go after any of the others. :)

I saw him do it on live, not too long ago. I was sitting at his spawn point and saw him spawn. He was visible for a brief moment before going invisible.

I've tamed all 4 colors of Portent in 2 days time, and the last two were actually discovering his tracks by accident. I know everyone's mileage will vary, but the quick respawn (1-2 hours) makes it better than waiting for Northrend spawns times a million.

Plus I have a stone kitty for every color outfit I own.

I don't know if it "really works" but each time I've flared him, I've hunters marked him, and he won't fade out. Now I don't know if I've had a lucky long flare or what but that's been my experience.

If you hunter's mark him, you'll see him as long as you have him marked.
