At the end of the quest to get Old Man Thistle's Treasure in the Valley of Eternal Blossoms, there is a green fire spider at the end of a cave, guarding the chest you have to loot. He is listed as tameable, which is indeed the case, but the cave becomes blocked once you finish the quest. Through some searching, I found that if you die close enough to the cave entrance, you can corpse run through the rubble, rez on the other side, and then proceed to tame this spider if you missed it before. He shares a model with Kirix and the Cinderweb Broodling from the Molten Front, but if neither is up or you don't have access to the Molten Front, this is a very easy way to get the skin if you missed it on your first go-around. I'm not sure if you can enter the cave without having done the quest.
As a fun fact, this particular mob seems to summon acid bombs from the sky at random intervals after taming, the rate of which can be greatly increased if you use Stampede. I don't think they do damage, but it sure does look cool. If you have Stampede glyphed, there's almost a constant rain of acid while they're active. If it's not glyphed, then there are a few each second.
Edit: Here's an image of the acid bombs.

They look like they're doing damage in that shot....odd.
I just tamed this guy myself and he's not doing the acid bomb trick. Clearly yours did, so I'm wondering if I'm just unlucky or if you did something different on your tame.

All I did was click Tame Beast. So far I haven't seen the acid fall unless I use Stampede, so it may be a glitch with that.
Edit: I just tried again after relogging, and he isn't dropping the bombs anymore
Still a fun glitch though!

And it's every time you use Stampede? Or truly randomly?

It seemed to only really happen while using Stampede, but I may have just been extremely unlucky.

I've had zero luck thus far, so I wonder if it's a true glitch, not easily reproduced.

It may be. It seemed to go away once I relogged, so perhaps it only happens in the time between taming and pet death/entering arena/relogging.

Still really fun to see!

Ok this is too weird...I guess the acid bombing is completely random since he just did it again when I used Stampede. He wasn't my active pet, so that may have had something to do with it. I also checked my Recount logs and the bombs do in fact do some damage! Since he was only doing 1/4 his normal damage at the time, the bombs hit for around 150 and crit for 300. Apparently it's called "Poison Drip" and he was able to hit with it 31 times in the 20-second Stampede duration. I'll try it again once the cooldown is up, but with him as my active pet.

Just did Stampede twice with him as my active pet (I also glyphed Stampede for the second try) and he did not do it the first time but did the second. I don't think the glyph matters since in my attempt prior to these 2, he used it and my Stampede was not glyphed. Even if he's the active pet, the ability still only hits for 150 and crits for 300. Since the #'s are so low, hopefully they'll let us keep it

After several Stampedes, I think he'll only do it if he is NOT your active pet when you Stampede. All the times he's used Poison Drip, he's been one of the pets summoned by my Stampede.

Very interesting. Too bad it'll be deemed an intentional exploit. I use to be a big fan of pets who had different damaging attacks before the normalization across the board. What spec is he in?

I've had him as both Cunning and Ferocity so far. It did the same damage as both specs. I wish it didn't deal damage so we could potentially keep it, but it definitely increases the damage Stampede is capable of, especially for BM Hunters like myself, even if it only does an extra 17-20k.
Edit: It's funny though since, according to my recount, he does a tiny bit less damage than my other spiders that are summoned via Stampede. Maybe Poison Drip has a tiny cast time or something that interrupts the melee swing?

There isn't a cast time on it and it seems like its off the GCD. Could be a melee swing thing, though.

I went and tamed him and found out that if while you are in combat you dismiss him as your main pet then call him back in then he will cast it 100% of the time and it never ends until the fight is over.... I really wish it didn't do damage because this is defiantly the kind of thing blizz counts as an exploit... Still fun though :3

This is nuts! I did the stampede thing to see the epicness of it all, and it was really neat.
But AFTERWARDS I couldn't get him to STOP casting it. Even when I'm NOT in combat. I'll just summon him in the middle of Org or Two Moons and BOOM! It's like Hell on Azeroth, or Burning Legion invading Pandaria. Everyone is like WTF?!
Did I mention it also now makes an obnoxiously loud noise, that apperently everyone can here. Like the constant sound of poisonballs hitting the ground. AND IT WON'T STOP!
I have no idea what I did to make it nonstop in AND out of combat, but the noise is certainly getting on my nerves, despite looking extremely awesome. I was zoning in and out of instances and such...maybe that had something to do with it...

I strongly suggest you report the bug and discontinue use of the pet until they get that issue straightened out, if you haven't done that already. One cool pet is not worth getting your account banned over.

Yeah...you could get into huge trouble for a pet like that. It's pets like that...that take away all cool pets.
