Woot! So, I just caught Portent. I got the lovely Jade Green with Gold Mane color. I'm happy, and my set of tracking rares is almost complete. I reluctantly released my old Quilen who carried me through much of Pandaria, when I needed some Stable Room... But when I tamed Portent, I recognized much of my old friend in him, and now I feel that he will be a good substitute. There is only one problem--

What do I name him?

I recalled a Hozen quest called Whats in a Name Name? and that made me name my first Quilen Mogumogu. But, that sounded stupid. So I named him Gauchu. (Gauchu-Got You, like as in a guard dog) But that didn't stick either! And now that my old buddy is back in the form of Portent, he's nameless!!!

I need a good name for my new jade dog. Halp!

I'd prefer something that spoke of his vitality and strength, if possible. Maybe something that spoke of his stamina as well, because he'll primarily be a Heavy Tank and Light DPS pet in my warband. I was thinking of Savage, Merciless, Unbending, Longevity, etc.

In all seriousness, name it something like YuShou (Roughly translates to ''Jade Beast'' in English. Thanks google translate!) or FeicuiPifu. (Again, thank you google for translating things. This time it translates to ''Emerald Skin.'')

Cuili is Chinese, meaning emerald green.
Junli is a Chinese word meaning pitiless/merciless.
Changshou is Chinese, meaning longevity/long lived/ability to live long.
Xialing is Chinese, meaning longevity/advanced age/long life.
Shouxing is Chinese, meaning God of longevity.
Hendu is Chinese, meaning savage/vicious/malicious.
Daxia is Chinese, meaning noble warrior/knight/swordsman.
Xiongpi is Chinese, meaning fierce fighter/valiant warrior.
Kang and Geng are both Chinese words meaning fierce dog.
Chai is a Chinese word meaning dog-like animal/ravenous beast/jackal.
Shiren is Chinese, meaning man-eating beast/to eat people/to oppress the people.
Taowu is Chinese, meaning legendary beast.
Xian is Chinese meaning immortal.
Daxian is Chinese, meaning great immortal.

I think Gauchu was a pretty awesome name even though it didn't stick for very long. If you want, you can always go with the name Getcha or Sicem as a sort of tribute.

EDIT: Thanks so much for the help you guys, Portent has been renamed to Hendu which means Savage/Vicious in Chinese.
