Unexpected Worg

Yesterday was the worst day I've had in WoW for a long time. I won't go into it. It's on the rant thread.

Well, guild-less now, I was roaming around and decided that Seth needed a new pet.

Looking for the site, I decided on Warg, the dark grey worg skin identical to Old Cliffjumper. I love the color, but Old Cliffjumper just felt...old. Especially with his new incarnation. He seems like a grumpy, retired old wolf that just wants to eat his food and sleep in the shade. Warg, though, had the coloring and he seemed liked he would be more of the adventuring type. A little warmed by the idea, I went to the Plaguelands to camp.

So I waited.

And waited.

And waited....

As I understood, these spawns are usually only a few hours at most. One hour turned to two, then three, and after four I felt oddly...rejected. I know it was probably just some CRZ thing or maybe he shares a spawn-spot (I couldn't find much information), but I felt very crestfallen that he wasn't even showing himself. It felt like he just didn't want me to tame him despite being very excited and his coloration being my very favorite for the model, with his dark coat and green eyes.

After the fifth hour, I gave up, feeling rather down. I roamed around, doing a little archaeology, but mostly just not feeling like sleeping and not sure what to do.

I ended up in Silverpine Forest and decided to see if Gorefang was up. He was and I thought about taming him, but it didn't feel right after Warg. I left him alone and went to sit on a stump by the water, waffling between going back to camp longer and just taking it as a sign that Warg wasn't meant to be.

Then I noticed this ordinary black worg was in combat with me. He was patrolling near the large stump and currently staring at me intently from where I stood. Thinking it would get him out of combat, I moved around. Nope, he followed. Around and around the tree, he went, those silver-blue eyes on me the whole time.

I even took a few screenshots.

I had to admit, the stubborn worg was kind of amusing. His unwavering attention and refusal to reset showed personality I wasn't used to seeing in that particular model/coloration. I'm honestly not a huge fan of black pets. Black and white pets are common in a lot of models, so I normally like to be a little 'unique' and use pets that are other colors.

Still, I couldn't help a pull toward this particular fellow. I moved around again, just to see if he would reset. If he reset, it would be a sign I was just being lonely and silly.

Nope, he didn't reset. I couldn't resist the urge.

I jumped off the log with him still fixated on me and tamed.

So...now I have this handsome black worg with startlingly light eyes. I'm not sure if he was going to say, but I'm oddly happy to have him by me.

Now he just needs a name.

Tenacity might be a good name for him, or Spunky

I'd like to offer some suggestions for names if it's ok ...

Firas: means "persistent".
Rhan: means "fate".
Makalo: means "surprise".
Amzad: means "unexpected".
Levi: means "a bond, a tie, and/or a promise".
Kage: Pronounced kaw-gay. Translates to "shadow" in Japanese.
Senca and Senka: both mean "shadow".
Vasyl and Liam: both mean "determined guardian".

I personally like Levi and Kage. Great suggestions, Niabi!

By the way, congrats on your wolf, Sethalaen! I like when tames happen unexpectedly like that. I've formed some very strong bonds with tames such as these.

Thank you! And thank you for the names. He's still in my stable and I'm trying to find just the right name for him. I do like Levi a lot though!
