I noticed on wowhead that the new raven on Island of Thunder is a Bird of Prey instead of a Carrion Bird, anyone found them yet and can see if that is the case?

Look like the Dark-Eyed Raven is in a part of the island that hasn't been unlocked yet.

I'm using my phone and can't view the 3D models, but this new model looks a bit more defined than the old one.

It's the Gilnean raven model.

Tis indeed a Bird of Prey

And before anyone asks, the answer is: A clever use of mechanics (ie Engineering Goblin Glider)

There's no need for clever mechanics. :) there's a rock ramp at the north end that lets you invia the caves.

I tested these guys on the ptr but never noticed they were birds of prey. Well spotted! :)

I'll report it though. I suspect they're meant to be consistent with other ravens.

Ha, yes that would be pretty savage :) I did indeed mean the raven class.

I did report the rock thing back on the ptr, in case it was an issue, but apparently it wasn't. That area will be open any time now anyway. And you don't really gain anything by going there early. Without any quests it's just more mobs that drop the same things.

Just be wary about using that ramp in the north.

People have been getting banned for going in before the phase unlocks.

It was reported and deemed not a problem. Besides, you can't do much back there without things being unlocked, due to phasing. Looks like the devs have already taken care of everything in this case.

Actually, please don't take my word that it's not a problem! I reported it before the ptr ended but it was never fixed. Probably because you can't gain much from going there before the quests open. I said I'm assuming it's not a problem, but that is purely an assumption :)

Ah, fair enough then!

At any rate, I haven't seen anything back there (like the rares that unlock later) that would give anyone an unfair advantage, so there's that.

Just one of many threads. You are welcome to do a search and find more. xD

They're suspending people for "exploiting" if they enter the city. Despite the fact the ramp is right there and it's a GIANT OPEN AREA YOU RUN ONTO. >_>

It's stupid, and you could appeal it, but like I said, I was just warning people.

The OP doesn't actually say they or anyone else they know had been banned; it was just a general question...but hey, better safe than sorry.

The weird thing is that there's an opening right there; it felt like the rock entry was intended...

Yeah, that's just it, anyone could wander there and think it was intended. The ramp leads to a stage with with some of those totems and things, so it does look like what you're supposed to do. Then there's just an open cave inviting you in.
