Keeping Myself Entertained

Hey, you lot! I have this really, really awful problem in WoW (and most other video games, actually), and I was hoping you guys could give me some advice!

I get easily bored. I start questing for a while, but then I'm bored and I just stop. I start rep grinding theeeeeeeeeeen... nope. I can't seem to focus on one thing in the game for more than an hour!

Considering how much I love mounts and want to have them all, this is extremely frustrating to me. It's most of why I don't do dungeons or raid, too!

Has anyone else found a way to work around this?

I Like listening to music, I also stagger what I do. So I might do a section of dailies, then move on to farming something (mounts/pets/mog) and run LFD and LFR just for fun, even if (for LFR) I am not eligible for any gear, JP or VP. I have a bunch of alts that I play around on, some on pvp, RP and normal realms. I like having a general goal in mind when I go onto wow, like achievements or how many rare scan I spot, for RP I tend to find somewhere with a few people (taverns) and see if anything interesting is happening that I can jump into.
I also tend to have a book, sketch pad, or hand held game near me if I need a break. Also have a TV on with something interesting to distract me if I am grinding out something. Have some web tabs open to circle between like youtube, webcomics, or DeviantArt, etc.

Hope that helps.

I watch a lot of videos on youtube by people who play games and just all in all make hilarious shows.

When I am doing a rep grind or something I'll pull one series of videos up on my ipad, prop it against my screen and watch while I play. Music, podcasts, tv shows whatever are also good options.

Also pace yourself-if you try to do everything at once you will get burned out and have nothing to do later. I only focus on one rep grind at a time-thats just about 10-ish quests at most for the faction. Queue for a dungeon when you start-go into the dungeon for a nice break and then come back to finish. It is far easier to help keep you focused.

Big thing it to not do too many at a time, break them up if you need to. When I did the rep grind for the netherray mounts and the netherwing drakes, I would do one on the first day, then the other on the next and back and forth. I didn't get too sick of them by the time I was done.

Thanks, guys.(: I've found that playing WoW in small increments and switching between it and something else seems to work. Thank you all so much!
