UPDATE: According to Cory Stockton (who hasn't lied before, and has screenshot proof), a new battle pet will be found in Northrend in 5.3 - a baby/mini Valkyr:

It looks fantastic, and it seems to be using the Tyrael's Hilt pet skeleton. (It's not a downsized Valkyr model as you can see. Stoked!

Raiding with Leashes II: Attunement Edition (New)

So, 5.3 brings new raid drop minipets, something I personally have been waiting for. Sadly, it's not quite what I'd hoped.


I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but a lot of those pets are recoloured versions of currently available minipets, which makes me a bit sad. But still, it's better than nothing.

(I really hoped for a Mini Lurker Below though. )

[Lesser Voidcaller] drops from: High Astromancer Solarian

[Lil' Bad Wolf] drops from: very likely the Big Bad Wolf/Opera Event

Yeah, some of these will be recolored existing pets. Ah well, you can't get everything!

Some info...

Lil' Bad Wolf is Humanoid with a worgen icon, so I'd expect a custom model or downscaled worgen.

Menagerie Custodian is mechanical, so probably looks like the blood elf "robot" model.

Netherspace Abyssal is magic, and will obviously look like an abyssal.

Fiendish Imp: not sure if it's going to be an imp or satyr model.

Tideskipper is aquatic with humanoid abilities, so I assume it'll be a small "water giant"

Tainted Waveling will be like Water Waveling, only with poison abilities.

Coilfang Stalker will be a "Black Stalker" skin of Legs

Pocket Reaver is a recolored Personal World Destroyer.

Lesser Voidcaller will resemble a Voidcaller, obviously.

Phoenix Hawk Hatchling will be a pink/purple skinned dragonhawk, one that hasn't been used on a companion yet.

Tito will be a custom model dog. Remember when Cory Stockton alluded to more canine pets?

Viscous Horror and Living Fluid sound like they might come from Primordius? Not sure about these ones.
Filthling might come from the Saurok in Ighaluk Crag. There's plenty of living filth "oozes" there.

And my favorite... Gahz'rooki... it has a hydra icon, so I'm guessing HYDRA COMPANION TIME!

Gahz'rooki is without a doubt a hydra, yes.


I would love for Tito to be a new dog model, but I doubt it, since Karazhan had its own dog called Tito, which has the worg model: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=17548


And seeing as it's the Bigglesworth of TBC, it's probably not gonna be a new model, like Bigglesworth.

Like the idea of Raiding with Leashes 2, it'll give me something to do with those old raids again.

And I am massively fangirling over Tito!!!! I have wanted him specifically for AGES, but knew that was impossible due to a) possible encounter breakage b) lollackofstablespace. And I have to farm my favorite raid tier for him? You win this round, Blizzard!

Viscous Horror made me think of Gnomer, especially if ZF is a possibility for one of the other pets.

I feel the same way about both of those.
Also, I think I've spent too much time among the Saurok and have gone native, because I really want a Filthling too!

I think Big Bad Wolf might, either be the worgen player model downsized, or the Big Bad Wolf (old worgen model) downsized. Might just be a new model altogether though.


And personally, I do hope Tito gets some new textures at least. God knows worgs/dogs can use it, and Blizzard could even use it for new worg pets if they do!

Though I don't know what to make of the fact that it's "unborn". My brain's going into loops trying to wrap itself around that. "Unborn"...Val'kyr are undead...their babies not yet born...the adults not alive anymore...unborn...does not compute...too philosophical...o.O'

Anyway, I hope the big bad wolf is a small version of the old worgen model. That would be great.

Is this the part where I can hope they have "fixed" whatever was wrong with Pierre that caused the last minute pull from 5.2?

I like Raiding with Leashes type achievements because it gives me an excuse to drag all my alts through old raids. It takes me motivation to bother doing Attumen runs and Black Temple shenenigans!

Proooobably not ever getting PvP Pet Battling Direhorn any time soon... I haven't done a single pvp pet battle and it's not really something I plan on doing.

I'm not going to do any PvP battling until 5.2 hits. No point in wasting time for stuff that doesn't count towards the achievement...
Unless it counts already-earned battles?
