This is what boredom does to me...

The other night I was flying around Jade Forest and I came upon a nice little rock in a river to land on. And I got an idea. I hadn't done anything with photoshop in years and as I was sitting on the rock I realized what a great location it was for screen caps so I started shooting pics of my active stable. I'm attaching the end result of my exploits with photoshop and am currently scouting new locations to do pics of the rest of my stable.

Well, boredom suits you, that looks awesome! I look forward to seeing more screenshots done like that. Is it hard to convert a screenshot to that style?

I'm glad you like it. ;) It gives me incentive to do more after the raid week is done.

Actually making it look like that was the easy part of the process. Getting the shot was what took the most time and effort. Currently I'm trying to figure out a way to get good shots of my other spirit beasts because they seem to be less than cooperative. Their glow and transparency is making it difficult to get shots that don't show the polygons. I would be more than pleased if someone had hints they could share.

To elaborate, that's just a filter effect you can apply in Photoshop (it's called Poster Edges). :) It does indeed make things look very cool, especially in the WoW universe. One thing you can do to make it easier on yourself is take a blank screenshot of a landscape and then use WMV (WoW Model Viewer) to pose your pets and character and work them into the screenshot in Photoshop. :)

Ooooooh... it's the hunter that always has the mogs I want! *wave*

I'm having a difficult time finding WMV and seeing some posts about Blizzard breaking it. I want to get my spirit beasts and they aren't cooperating with me!

And yes poster edges was used. It wasn't the only thing I used but it did play a significant role.

And I'm glad people like it. :D I haven't even opened photoshop since about 2011.

Hm, I haven't had any issues with WMV. Are you making sure to download the version from Google code?

Hm, they appeared to have moved from Google Code, they're now located here:
https://wowmodelviewer.atlassian.net/wi ... del+Viewer

Also guys, to find the latest model viewers all you have to type into the Google search bar is wow model viewer. :P The version I'm currently using to get most of the MoP stuff is the beta version that was updated Nov. 26 2012. And despite what it says, the big shoulder issue is not fixed, however, I have found my own personal fix for it that works. :)
