I'm off to the Blue Mountains (the ones in Australia, not Middle Earth) for a week as of tomorrow. Just some sightseeing and hiking.
Please don't start any flamewars while I'm gone. I'd hate to miss the fun

HEY GUYS HOW DO YOU ALL FEEL ABOUT KILLING THE CATA AND MOP HUNTER RARES? SUPER FUN RIGHT?
(I kid, I kid. Have a fun time, don't fall of a mountain. That would be quite unfortunate.)

Wain watch out for Yowies! We both know they are the 2nd most dangerous Aussie animal next to Drop bears. Infact watch out for Drop bears too. Keep one eye on the ground and one in the trees!

Hehe. Thanks guys

This is going to be the most extravagant hiking trip I've been on. Usually we carry a tent and food and hike for several days. But this year it's so late in the season that we decided to stay in hotels and do day walks. Or, you know, go to wineries, etc.... ;P So I may check in now and then since I'll have phone access.
And Cow.. funny thing is my tramping mate is a kiwi. Every other trip we've done has been in NZ (last year was Milford Track... incredible!), so this is the first we're doing in Oz. And like most kiwis he's terrified of the idea of snakes. He unfortunately didn't buy the drop bear thing. Or the deadly quoll packs that will reduce you to a skeleton in minutes. Or anything else I told him about. Fortunately it's now cold enough there's unlikely to be a snake still awake.

When you first said Blue Mountains I thought you might be heading to
The North Face Challenge, but I see that's only later. Enjoy regardless

So who is in charge with Wane gone ? Mania ?

I can keep an eye on you from my hotel room!

. But it's hard to moderate much by phone, not that there's ever much call for it. I believe Mania will be keeping an eye out if any serious probs arrive though.
It's really beautiful here. The hotel was built in the 1800s and has period decor. And the area up here in the mountains is gorgeous. Sunny but fresh.
