This is my reaction to Xbox One and PS not being backwards compatible.

technology gets to a point where it is not cost effective.. also both have stated they will be making much of their current libraries available online to play..

However, the Xbox One also requires an internet connection at all times, makes it impossible to lend games, has a camera that they have said is always on, and a slew of other problems. It's a horrible mess of a system. Charging people a fee to play a game? They've also stated that they've thought about using the camera to make sure that only the allowed number of people are watching or playing a game, and that they've thought about making it so the system will pause until the new person also pays the fee.
It's a lot of money grubbing nonsense, really. Add that they have claimed "backwards compatibility is backwards thinking" and that they have said they do not plan to make versions of 360 games for Xbox One? A backwards compatibility of at least one system is always a good idea, at least when the system first comes out. You can stop having backwards compatibility with later versions of it, but really? When it's first announced? All you're doing is making it so people who might want to sell their 360 so they can buy the Xbox One can't.
I've been hearing a lot of talk about it, and it frustrates me immensely.

Oh, the Xbox One sounds like a giant punch in the face from the creators. I have absolutely no intention of buying it and hearing of its features has just increased my motivation to look into a Wii U.

The only next gen console I'll be getting is a WiiU. I mean I can play Wii games on it. You'd think backwards compatibility would be a thing they ADD to new consoles so more people have a reason to buy them but nope. Also the fact that the Xbox one (really idiotic name btw people are going to get confused about it) being always online and having to have the motion capture thing on at all times is just asking for some sort of privacy breach. It's not like MS has not been hacked into before :S
Also whats with the having to pay a extra fee to play used games? A feee that's around the price of a new game? Here I always thought used games where a huge money maker......

I absolutely refuse to buy the XBox One. Microsoft isn't just shooting themselves in the foot...they're shooting themselves in the head and both kneecaps.
There's so many things wrong with it, I don't even know where to begin.

So I'll just leave this here.

Well PS4 just put a nail in the fucking coffin at E3. No disc share fees, no constant internet connection, no Kinect necessary. Plus it's only $399

What? WHAT! Thats the biggest load of....grrr! If the hunter stampede thing hadn't of gotten me riled up before...that can't be for real? No one would buy one ever. I certainly wont.
And god, if Atari could do backwards compatability in the freakin 80's, you'd think they could pull their finger out and do it now. So you have to keep all your old consoles if you want to play your fav games? I feel like going back to my 7800 and staying there if new consoles will be this stupid in the future (a little extreme i know..) but rawr!

Yup WiiU is the only next gen console with backwards compatibility it seems. That is really silly to me they all should.

FUUUUUUUUCK!
I'm so done, that shit is like a shotgun to the chest.
Right on Playstation take your shots
Only disappointment is the requirement for PSN+, but I figured it'd happen eventually. I just hope it means we'll be able to change our gamertags outside of Japan.

Man, the beatdown I just witnessed mostly makes my day.
Well, what it means is I might just be playing way more console games in the future than I have been.
I'm excited to watch all of the NIntendo Directs tomorrow. It's like an after-party!

Considering that KH3 was announced tonight and the fact that there's a new Pokemon game this year... I think the Xbox One is going to be having some major, major problems.

Problems yes but how major they are I guess all depends on how good those things turn out to be!

Just to help keep a list of...well...all the things XBox has.....
~24 hour "phone home" online requirement for home console
~1 hour "phone home" for away console
~Trades limited to once and only once its stuck with the person you trade the game too
~Required Kinect
~Mandatory installs of games
~No self published games
~2-1 physical to digital game sales for publishers to put digital sales on XBLA1
~Rentals are gone due to install demands
~Using the camera to make sure that only the allowed number of people are watching or playing a game
~90% of the XBox stuff is US only so EU is SoL.
