I thought I'd create a screenshots thread for RIFT, since we have threads for other games. I figure I might be one of the only ones posting here, so I hope you all don't mind!

I shall get started with a few.....

I thought this looked really beautiful with the partly-covered moon and blue glowy things that float around all over the place.

I figure Veph might like this one, if she happens to stumble across this thread..... I bought a $10 upgrade ("Ashes of something-rather") and got a spindrel mount as one of the rewards. I am thinking of naming her Shiala. :3

aww its good to see some screenies of rift... i played it long ago but the gameplay wasnt to my liking. the graphics are amazing though

It might be worth it to try it again. They've added a lot of new things and it's totally free to download and play.....

Well, I had taken some pics of my dimension, but then I added a bunch of crap so I had to trash those pics and I'll need to take new ones. So for now, I'll just post a pic of Divaen. At first, I didn't like the female high elves very well because for the most part, their customizations look too cutesy. But, I was just randomly fiddling with the creation one day and whipped something up, and fell in love with it. Originally her marking was different.

I named her role (spec) "Blade of Tavril". Tavril used to be the patron deity of the elves until she joined the Vigil. :3

Uhh itching to play rift again...

I even know that there is a petclass with a raptor, boar and a wolf as a pet.. cant recall what they are called though... but im taking a 10 day break from wow due to finace.. so might check out the rift pet class

In RIFT it's the Ranger soul. You can then pair it with something like Marksman or Saboteur for more ranged damage, or one of the melee Souls for when something gets too close. Hey girl, it's free to play so it can't hurt to just give it a whirl for a little while, right?

My brother bought me a mount for my birthday (well, early birthday present). At first I didn't think I liked these when I previewed them in the store - there's this one and then one that has a bunch of stars - but when I saw this one in person, I really liked it. ^.^

I am RPing that it's the spirit of her horse that died alongside her before the Vigil found her and ascended her. The horse's spirit couldn't find rest, both because it missed its mistress and because it is valiant and must help her end the threat of the dragons. :B

I've been thinking of picking this up again as uh.. WoW is getting a little stale again. Is it any different/better than before? I heard they added new souls but cant for the love of me remember what they were.

What're the advantages of doing it FTP/having an account?

To be honest, I haven't tried any of the new souls yet, but they seem neat. The warrior's is called the Tempest. It's a ranged soul, so that's pretty interesting for a warrior class. The cleric got the Defiler, which I guess you could say is like an affliction lock that heals the party at the same time. The rogue got the Tactician, which is a nifty ranged soul that uses turrets and "engines" and funky little contraptions like that. Finally, mages got the Harbinger which is essentially a battle mage. They create their own weapons and fight in melee range. They're not tanks though, so you wouldn't want to try to tank a boss.

As far as F2P vs subbing, the F2P gets everything that a subscriber gets. Nothing is held back from F2P people or anything like that. However, subscribers get nice bonuses, things like more experience, more notoriety (faction rep), guild bank and personal bank summons, etc. Plus, they get daily and weekly "loyalty" rewards, which have anything from various currencies to artifacts to lockboxes and lockbox keys. It's basically just extra stuff, but nothing that a F2P player will be at a disadvantage for not having.

Seeing as how your reply was almost a month ago, it's likely you no longer even care about Rift, lol. Oh well, in case anyone else is curious.

Now for the screen shot. I was taking a pic of my character in a cute pose, and afterwards I happened to notice this guy in bright white shorts and a helmet (and that's it) in the background, looking like he wants to fight a lamp post.

My dwarf cleric, Irmingard. Right now I'm trying out a hybrid combo of Inquisitor (Life/Death spellcaster) and Sentinel (Life-based single target heals), with Warden (Water-based AoE heals) as my third. In invasions and such, I end up healing primarily, but having the Inquisitor spells for questing with my husband comes in handy, too. I'm liking it so far!

(Not sure if anyone even reads this, but oh well.....)

Here's the warrior I've really gotten into, which is weird because prior to this character, I had a really difficult time getting into warriors. I kept trying to force them on dwarf females and it just wasn't working. Andjros here is the product of me fiddling with character creation to see what the animations and such looked like for each race and gender. I liked him so well that on impulse, I decided to use him. I think part of it is because a Kelari was pretty much the last race that seemed warrior-like to me. They're really into spirits and magic and such. But, I took the Riftblade soul as my main (not really intending to force anything, it just sounded fun), and from there it just clicked. Riftblades are elemental warriors. :3 Well, and his mohawk is awesome.

His soul setup is Riftblade(DPS)/Warlord(Defense)/Paragon(DPS). I gotta say, the Warlord bit is really sweet. It's technically a defense soul, but there were a couple of goodies I wanted. One is a buff that gives you a small percentage of health back when you use "builders" (abilities that generate a combo point), based off of attack power - good for a DPS warrior, no? The second is a talent that allows you to block without a shield. I wasn't sure if it would work they way I hoped, but it actually looks pretty flippin' awesome. I just got it tonight. My block rating was only two points lower without a shield than with one, and now that I've loaded up on strength, it's actually even higher now. ^.^ So, now I'm dual-wielding axes, can self-heal (a tiny bit, but better than none) and have a 12% chance to block without a shield (it was only 10% before, with a shield [but also before my new gear]). I do think my block would be higher with a shield, as they have innate block, but it was only barely higher when I compared. Woot! Now I can go back to focusing on my DPS souls.

Alright, enough chatter. Here's Andjros, and then also my new Hellbug mount. It's a random drop from specific fire rifts - they must be Hellbug rifts. I've gotten two pets so far and was hoping for the mount. I actually got it on another character, but they're account-bound (but character bound on use), so I just sent it to him.

My dwarf cleric, Irmingard. I've changed her appearance a couple times, mostly just coloration of the markings, makeup and hair. I think I quite like how she looks now though.

It's the racial ability for Kelari - they can turn into a fox which gives them an incredibly reduced aggro range. I was a little higher level which probably helped, but they didn't notice me 'til I ran right into their group.
