Vanity Pet Macro Help

Okay, to celebrate my new tame of King Mosh, I'd like to summon a random little baby raptor pet to keep by my side. =)
I use the 'Random' pet macro, i.e:
/run CallCompanion("CRITTER", random(GetNumCompanions("CRITTER")))
but this includes all of my 120 pets, when I only want/need the 8 raptor pets! I'm awful at making macros on my own, so my question is this: is there anyway this can be done within the 250 character limit? Much appreciated in advance!

I'd reccomend grabbing the fantastic addon
Gup Pet. ^^
It has a customizable menu for both vanity pets and mounts that allows you to choose which are included in the 'Random Button' that the addon comes with.

Worked like a charm, cheers Veph.
Any way of putting it into your action bar?

The addon should give you 2 buttons that are on their own moveable little...thing.
I'm not sure if you can transfer them directly to your action bar, but I usually tuck mine right off to the side of my lower bar.

I use Petleash which automatically summons a pet, you can choose how often (Sometimes, Never, Often, etc) and pick which ones you want, and deselect the ones you don’t. It’s nice, except when you drop into battle and want to start casting, since it activates the Global Cooldown to summon a pet. But it’s a pretty easy Addon to use, no extra buttons, etc.

I use petleash too. It's a nice, lightweight addon that does all the thinking for you (including dismissing the minipet when you're stealthed) and you can configure it individually for each toon.

You've already got this covered with the mod, but the macro can be done much simpler then what you have there. I simply use
/castrandom followed by the exact names of the critters(or in my case, mounts). So You'd just need
/castrandom raptorname1, raptorname2, raptorname3 etc.

Does GupPet automatically summon pets like Petleash does, or does it use a button--the addon info for it wasn't very clear. I prefer summoning them manually, and am still using MiniPet, although I'm not sure it's being updated anymore, even though it still works.

GupPet is fully customizable with its options. You can have it set to automatically summon companions, or you can leave that part turned off and just click the button yourself. =)

Speaking of GupPet, I started a Shammy the other day, and the Ghost Wolf form is in it's roation for mounts.

Yes, you can. In the GupPet options menu you'll see a box marked 'Enable Auto Call' with some options beneath it. If you check this box you'll automatically summon a random minipet wherever you go. You can go in and specifically check or uncheck minipets so only ones you want will be summoned. You can also specify when you want Auto Call to occur. For example, you can have it turned off for Battlegrounds if you don't want them in there, etc.

Thanks for the info Veph. I'm going to check this mod when I get home. I think mini pets should be able to do 1 dps. That would make more of a use for them being out.
Now just to have a mini pet wearing goggles...

For the life of me I can't find that box. Am I just blind?
