Well I call them hive dragons, but I've never made an official subspecies. I don't even have a hatchery. Was my passive-aggressive post over the line?

no I don't think so they took your private subspecies and are using it without giving any credit.

I understand your frustration, but I don't see any lore on their pages or on your profile page. Maybe this person was unaware of your lore for them?

You're right of course, Teigan. They are so specific gene/color-wise, I'm not sure if they are appropriate as a subspecies, rather than breeding pair. Although the beehive gene/color combo does look great across a wide range of breeds. Regardless, I should make a thread and a banner for them. It's on my to-do list now. I sent a message and explained my concept, and I think they are going to go a different direction with their dragons.

I think that was the right thing to do. Best to talk it out :)
As far as subspecies go, I know of some bee dragon subspecies, but I don't think they looked quite like yours, and perhaps your lore would include a different angle on the bee concept than just straight-up "this is a bee". You'd have to check the Nature subspecies thread. And, I personally don't think they're too specific for a subspecies. Some subspecies are very narrow. If you wanted more variety, you could do something like have the ones with capsule be nectar bees and then have yellow range gembond for pollen-carrying bees, etc. You wouldn't have to have the other variety in your lair, but could make mockups and write their lore out so that it might attract people who are interested but want more variety.

I was thinking of them as beehives instead of bees :) --giraffe for the honeycomb and capsule for the honey. I'll admit it's been more about looks for me than lore. Well, I'll have to look through the other subspecies.

Ah, that's brilliant, and as far as I know, unique! Keep us posted on that. There's so much cool potential with that idea!

Guilty as charged! I randomly find myself getting impatient saving up the gems I need for certain projects and just throw money at the situation in order to expedite the process. Being broke as I am most of the time, I have no business spending money on such trivial pursuits, but you know how it is … ERMAGERD PURDY DWAGUNS /drool!

true but i coulda used that money on more lasting things, like art commissions, instead of scattering one single dragon, giving up, and selling him for far less than he cost me cause i'd never get that money back on him :/

so, yeah
still gonna hate myself a bit for stupid lootbox-esque impulses

I feel that roundsey is favortizing some ppl. I always looks at the names and several of them is repeated winners. .I love HenryTheArcher but he has won't roundsey 6 times now. I know he only buys 10 tickets every week .. rng just favors him..
If it is rng. .I know someone who has won a prize 10 times. ..how can that be rng? ?

Sigh it just feels unfair to the rest

While I'm glad auctions use snipe guards, I recently lost out on winning a dragon because the auctioneer didn't understand how snipe guards work. I just wish people would educate themselves before running an auction. Snipe guards generally apply per dragon in multi-dragon auctions, not per auction unless specifically stated (which it wasn't).

On the plus side, the auctioneer did give me a credit for future auctions as an apology, so that was nice at least.

He says he only buys 10/week, but he very well may buy more and isn't willing to admit how much treasure he sinks into it.

Personally, I don't get a thrill from gambling, and only buy one ticket just for fun.

The first Roundsey, I purchased 35 or so tickets, and on consecutive occasions, purchased between 10-20 tickets when there is something I truly want up for grabs. I have not won, not once, and at this point have given up on the hope of it entirely. I cannot fathom how anyone would be able to win something ~ more than once ~ on only 10 tickets a go.

Congrats to all who have been much more fortunate than I. If only I were able to access a small percentage of that luck they seem to possess.

I buy a handful of tickets a week, and never win, so oh well.
