At first I wasn't going to post it, but it seems like the pet has its own walking animation. Although the mastiff model also has the model. I dunno if it's new, but it seems to fit, even though the animation looks a lot more choppier as a gif:

The gif does look a bit choppy, but the animation looks pretty good.

It also wouldn't take much to turn the model into a Tibetan Mastiff (just make it shaggier and give it a 'fro), which is a popular dog in the Chinese region and fitting for MoP.

I'd really really love to see more dog breeds tamable! I have a feeling this model is meant to be a battle pet, but hopefully a larger tamable version (with or without the gear) will be made available for taming.

The animations are great. It needs a few drips spraying from its mouth when it slobbers though

I'm not sure what the white wispy things coming out of its mouth are supposed to be. They don't really look like anything except weird and distracting. Proably a placeholder for some animation.

I am guessing some steam from the cask?

I'm pretty sure the white effect coming from its mouth is slobber but things like that never show up well in model viewer so it could be that it's just not finished or it would look better in the game.

Yeah now I can see it in WMV I think you're right. WMV is simply not putting the slobber where it should be. It's being drawn sideways and coming out of his head at weird places.

In this close-up you can see that it's clearly meant to hang in a couple loops under his mouth, not radiate from the side of his head
