Gamebreaker recently had the chance to interview Greg Street and Ion Hazzikostas. Durning their interview it was discussed that the development team had removed some abilities to cut back on bloat but after doing so cause some upset from players and "Eyes of the Beast" was brought up. Which if you do not remember let the hunter take control of their pet and see through them http://www.wowwiki.com/Eyes_of_the_Beast.

Here is the quote from the interview:
"Mists of Pandaria removed some abilities, but ended up adding some of them back because of player outcry and legitimate concerns.
One of the mistakes made when doing a pass of abilities in Mists of Pandaria was removing very situational or fun abilities. For example, Eyes of the Beast doesn't take up a keybind or important action bar slot, but it is something that players miss now."

Yes, PLEASE bring EOTB back! It was a staple part of RP for me before it was removed! My best friend and I both loved taking control of our pets in order to better include them in RP sessions. So much nostalgia.

I remember talking to hunterFTW once on real ID, we spoke about legendary weapon effects, she/he (think she? x3) said: "How about it lets you turn into your pet and dps

at the time I didnt think this was "epic" enough... but I was level 85 and VERY new to petopia and everything in general but now I see it as something that could become much more, your toon as a backup DPS and your pet kind of works like a druid. so picture a slightly less powerful druid with an arcane shot spamming hunter.

I wouldn't mind having it back.
I had actually used it for some more problematic solo pulls while levelling. So it definitely has its usefulness.

I never understood why they took it away in the 1st place. Their argument seemed to be button bloat yet they give us useless minor glyphs like Fireworks. Why can't EotB be a minor glyph too?

Long long ago, like way back in Vanilla, it could be abused slightly. I remember hunters would park themselves outside The Crossroads and use EotB to send their pet in to aggro or kill the vendor/trainer NPC's. Doing that didn't flag the hunter and I don't think they even got aggro if the pet died. That's really the only negative I can think of and even that was fixed (even before TBC if I recall correctly).

I used it to explore the caverns of Old Ironforge before they opened that up. There was a glitch where the pet would be inside the wall if you stood in the right spot. I'd like to see it come back too and not only to take advantage of glitches.

Yeah I know that, but that doesn't explain why they took it away when Cata came out because it was fixed a long time ago. My issues is they just decided to take it out with no real reason or explanation.

Blizzard was culling player abilities and cutting out everything that could be cut out. EotB didn't impact a player's rotation, though, so it was an unnecessary cut from our POV.

And perhaps the pet tanking thing that had really been solid at the end of Wrath. But that was non-standard.

I really hope they do bring it back. That ability is just awesome in so many ways.
